Continue reading Target Exclusive Retro Collection TPM 6pk In-HandBased on some checking I’ve done at Target, it appears that my local store is receiving the exclusive Retro Collection The Phantom Menace 6pk the week of March 19. That is not necessarily the street date or expected release date so your store availability may vary. This news follows up our report that these sets have started to arrive in the U.S. based on recent shipping info.
Live. Die. Repeat. That is the tag line of another franchise, but it’s sadly applicable to today’s mediocre fanstream of retools, repacks, refreshes, or what ever other corpo jargon you’d like to employ here. There were a couple bright spots but with ten preorder annoucements, including only one all new item, this was a weak first fanstream for 2024

Steve Evans (MrStevie18) has rejoined the Hasbro Star Wars brand team for 2024 and one of his first public contributions is the creation of this great 11″x17″ Retro Collection poster/checklist reminiscent of the original Kenner card backs. It is available for high-res download at his site.
Additional digging this morning has turned up a new Retro Collection code name “Odysseus” which corresponds to an as-of-yet unannounced 6pk.. The dimensions of this item (in terms of packaging) and price are the same as the other 6pks released previously. We know that The Phantom Menance 6pk has the code name “Diomedes” so could this be a set to represent Attack of the Clones based on its Greek-themed code name? I’ll continue to search for more info and update when possible.
