Personally I’m excited for this film, I always wanted to see Han Solo win the Millennium Falcon from Lando in that infamous card game. I hope they capture the tension just like Casino Royale.

Crap. From this picture, it’s clear this movie won’t be an origin story for Chewie’s bandolier.

  • Paulskywalker

A few people moaned about Rogue One going to be rubbish and look how great that turned out. I’ll stay open minded, hey it’s another SW movie at the end of the day. I think the resistance though is to someone else playing Han Solo, granted at first i was a little unsure myself about it at first. Just so long as they don’t do what that awful Ghostbusters did and we end up with cameos from Harrison Ford and Billy Dee Wiiliams in disguise.

Can’t say I’m interested in a pre-ANH Han story, and considering the character is now dead, I’m even less excited they’re making this movie. Nothing against the cast, they might turn out great, but why return to the OT era with recasts? TFA and beyond makes sense, but I don’t need to look back at insignificant storys.

I just dont see his likeness being even close to Ford. Even looking at something random outside facial likeness, his receeded hairline, makes him seem older than ANH Han. Not to mention the totally-off reddish haircolor. Hope we are not getting some overwrought SNL sketch…

Reminds me of The Ewok Adventure: Caravan of Courage with Robot Chicken and Lego Movie-style comedy and overdone impressions of Harrison Ford and Billy Dee Williams. Do we really have to see Han win the Millenium Falcon from Lando in a game of sabacc or see the Millenium Falcon making the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs? This was the magic of the original trilogy. Characters referring to these events in passing conversation were not throwaway lines but gave substance and history to the universe unfolding before us. Going back and acting out these incidents just dumbs down the original triology. In many ways this is going back to poking fun at Star Wars which is exactly what Lucasfilm said they were moving away from.

People won’t care for this guy getting himself all worked up pretending to be Han Solo getting into trouble. It’s going to be Dukes of Hazard remake tier waste.

Billy Dee Williams was actually in the Lego Movie, it wasn’t an impression.

  • Fiery Little One

I said this on JTA not too long ago, but I think it needs repeating. Give me a still that shows a clear cut violation of canon as it stands right now and I’ll call foul. Until then, I’m open minded about this.

  • Matthew Ruch

Definitely has a great cast. This movie might surprise us!

  • Sith Lord Jacen

The only person I’m excited to see is the mother of dragons

    • evilivo

      What about Chewie? 😉

    • Brian Beck

Yeah, already waiting for her TBS 6″.

  • bigpiffle

so excited to see phoebe waller-bridge’s in this! she’s so good in fleabag and crashing over here in the uk! starting to get much more excited and optimistic about this idea

  • bmales01

I have a bad feeling about this.

    • General Hux

I kind of do too, but Donald Glover as Lando will be awesome. Glover is almost as smooth as Billy Dee.

      • bmales01

I like Glover too, but this movie is a bad idea.

        • General Hux

Yes, I wish they would use the money for a more interesting story but oh, well. I’ll keep an open mind for now.

          • bmales01

Nah, I preferred keeping a closed mind. Like I do for Yazflow. I dont like to be disappointed

          • General Hux

Ah, I am always open minded when it comes to Star Wars.

        • General Hux

Glover is also an awesome singer. Just a side note. 🙂

  • General Hux

Chewie almost looks identical to how he did in TFA…..
