Recently there has been an influx of comments on articles that violate our policies in terms of respectful and relevant discourse. To address this, we are posting the following rules and guidelines update in order to keep the conversation(s) cordial and on topic.
1. Zero political discussion (including memes, gifs, images): I don’t care what your affiliation is — the interjection of politics is not allowed.
2. Discussion/debate on sex/sexual orientation, race or religion is not permitted. Your “right to free speech” arguments do not apply here. We are not the government. You have no “rights” here and by commenting on our articles, you are agreeing to abide by our discussion policies.
3. Blocking moderators: blocking moderators will result in the all offending user‘s comments removed from the site and will be blocked/banned (user name, email and/or IP address) from Disqus commenting.
4. Comment pruning: If it is determined that a thread is going too far off the actual discussion regarding the article, we reserve the right to remove any/all comments and/or close comments temporarily or permanently.
We want this to be a place to discuss toys, first and foremost, not a place to debate any perceived or implicit “agenda” any toy company/studio may have.
If your comment doesn’t show up for some reason, it may have been flagged automatically by the system and will be addressed on a case by case basis. You are not being targeted or shadow banned, it is just a sensitivity issue with Disqus moderation and filtering settings.
All that being said, I am not a babysitter, nor do I read every comment that is flagged or deemed “inappropriate” in real time so some things may slip through the cracks and take time to address and resolve.
A link to this page will be posted on the sidebar of all pages throughout the site for easy reference as well as above each comment section.
