For all you Rebel Pilot fanatics, Toys”R”us is offering these up for pre-order online, with a special Buy 2 Get 1 Free Promotion. That’s a pretty tough price to pass up, but remember this is an online promotion only. Thanks to our forum members for the heads up!
Our friends at Sandtroopers.com have posted a nice box shot of the upcoming Jedi Turbo Speeder that was announced at CV. March on over to check it out!
Various e-tailers have posted the case breakout for the upcoming wave 5 for the Vintage Collection:
1x Anakin Skywalker
1x General Grievous with Cape
1x Sandtrooper
1x Yoda
1x Luke Skywalker (Jedi Knight)
1x Clone Trooper
1x Luke Skywalker (Ep IV)
1x R5-D4 (Ep IV)
1x Stormtrooper
1x Han Solo (EP IV)
1x Clone Commander Gree
1x Darth Vader
As you can see, this wave doubles-up on a lot of character/figures (2 different Lukes, 2 different clones, 2 different stormtroopers, etc.) but most interesting is that Yoda as found a new home with this wave. Wedge on the other hand is still M.I.A.
If you have passed up to this point on the Target Exclusive Vintage 9pk, you might want to cruise your aisles again. A local MN collector friend, “JediMoses”, has found this on Temporary Price Reduction to a very attractive $35.99. This is a localized markdown and not all Target are observing this price but if your store had an ample supply of these you might want to visit (or at least call) to check. DPCI: 087-06-1620
The clock is ticking for the 2010 Yak Friday Giveaway! We know everyone could use one of these great sets for their collections, so if you haven’t entered the drawing yet, time is almost up! The deadline to enter is Friday, December 10 at 11:59 PM Central Standard Time.
Our friends at JediDefender.com have shared some more pics of the upcoming figures revealed recently in ToyFare magazine. These pics show more details than seen previously, and should put to rest any concerns regarding the elbows of the Rebel Fleet Trooper.
PROS: Marking one of the first truly new character offerings in a long time, Wooof gets his own figure since 1983 (collectors remember him then as “Klaatu”). Wooof features all the articulation one would expect and has an all-new sculpt for the body. (Head is a revised Giran sculpt). Well accessorized too with Vibro Ax (also from Giran), Blaster, removable helmet and bandolier.
CONS: Helmet is a little loose on the head and the skin tone is akin to a lime, but otherwise a totally solid figure worth repeat purchases.
Head to the toyguide for the full image gallery and to judge for yourself whether this figure is worth adding to your collection.
You can also weigh in with your impressions on the figures we add to our toyguide on facebook and in our forums.
