Curto Burns Collectors’ Cast Special

curtoburnscast
We’re going back… whoops, wrong franchise! Spending Christmas and New Year with his family at Rancho Obi-Wan in Northern California, James couldn’t miss up on the opportunity to record with Steve Sansweet and bring Dan in on the action as all three look back at Star Wars in 2012 – the events, the collectibles and their favourite items on a Curto Burns Collectors Cast Special.
Recorded on New Year’s Day (exactly three months ago to the day) tune in and listen as they talk about everything from Trading Cards to LEGO – you won’t want to miss this (and see if you can spot what’s changed in the last few months)!

Episode 372: Repair or Repurchase?

Eventually it will happen to all collectibles: they break, yellow, decay, or degrade. The passage of time eventually will cause all collectibles to lose their mint condition. Ask not for who’s collectibles the bell tolls, it tolls for thine. On this week’s Star Wars Action News podcast, Marjorie and Arnie discuss what happened to one of their Star Wars holiday snow globes, and how it changed their entire view of the collecting hobby!

Also this week, several new items have started to ship, including the eFX Collectibles TIE Fighter scaled replica, the Hasbro four-figure 104TH Battalion “Wolf Pack” of figures, and Steve Sansweet’s Ultimate Action Figure Collection book. We discuss each of these releases, with a review of the four figures in Hasbro’s pack and an in-depth look at the latest book from Steve Sansweet detailing every Star Wars action figure released since 1978.

With a discounted Vintage boxed Millennium Falcon, some hard to find mini rig vehicles at retail, and crafty gift ideas, it’s all on this week’s Star Wars Action News podcast!

CVI Coverage: Rancho Obi-Wan Experience

One of my personal highlights from Celebration VI was the walkthrough of the Rancho Obi-Wan Experience booth prior to the exhibit floor opening for the day. There were so many rare, unique and one of a kind items on display (one of which being handcrafted Yak Face figure) it required multiple viewings to take them all in. Check out this 80 image gallery to experience Rancho Obi-Wan for yourself.

Thanks to Steve Sansweet for not only bringing the exhibit but also for the taking the time for a brief chat and acceptance of one of our CVI Badge and Coin Pin sets.

Ultimate Action Figure Collection CVI Panel Details

Our good friends at JediTempleArchives have posted official details surrounding the panel featuring Dan Curto, Paul Harrison and Anne Neumann for Steve Sansweet’s Ultimate Action Figure Collection book. Head on over to JTA to check it out and be sure to clear your schedule for the first look at this highly anticipated publication!

Update: The Ultimate Action Figure Collection

A few weeks ago, we posted that Steve Sansweet is working on a new book titled, Star Wars: The Ultimate Action Figure Collection scheduled for release later this year. We’ve learned today that Dan Curto is consulting/assisting in the publication of this book. Just one more reason to add this resource to your library this October!
Update: It has also now been revealed that Paul Harrison from Jedi Temple Archives is working on the publication as well. Congrats Paul!
