It was something we mentioned in our initial review of this figure and now it looks like Hasbro has addressed the oversight as they have issued a variant to the 6″ Black Series C-3PO (Resistance Base) figure. Instead of the cheap looking plain red arm, they have now given it a proper, screen accurate deco. I’ll definitely be picking this version up.
Thanks to Rebelscum for their report.
Funko has updated their blog today announcing their Hikari Sofubi First Order Stormtrooper. Limited to only 500 pieces worldwide.
Toys”R”Us now has all of their non-exclusive 6″ Black Series figures on sale for $9.99 each.
Thanks to RogueKnite for the report
In case you don’t read too deeply in to our Toyguide Update for the Walgreens Exclusive 6″ Black Series C-3PO, we felt that a standalone post for this was warranted. It turns out that the Walgreens version has a distinct sculpt to its abdomen and is not a simple repaint of the Resistance Base version.
Today we’ve received our first look at Disney Store’s Exclusive line on Premium Elite Series Figures. These high-end versions include 32 points of articulation, soft goods and interchangeable accessories.
Look for Rey and Kylo Ren on November 15 and Leia and Darth Vader on November 29.
Thanks to usetheforce305 (via toy_capture) for the image.
UPDATE: An important detail for this line is that the figures are approximately 12″ tall and are plastic, NOT die cast.
UPDATE 2: I ran over to my Disney Store at lunch and snapped a quick comparison/scale pic of Disney’s Marvel Ultimate Series Premium Action Figure line and also received verbal confirmation of the Premium Elite Series being a 12″ line. Click on through for the image.

The Yakface Toyguide updates continue for our next entry in the 6″ Black Series assortment with the droid you don’t recognize: C-3PO (Resistance Base).
PROS: A fantastic sculpt overall, capturing the silhouette and posture of one of the most recognizable droids in all of cinema. The details are very well done for a figure in this price point. Articulation is about what one should expect for a protocol droid as they aren’t that dynamic or action-oriented in their function anyhow. Non-TFA C-3PO fans can look forward to seeing this figure repainted as a Walgreens exclusive sporting the more popular “Original Trilogy” coloration. Hopefully we will see future releases with this body to get some additional protocol droids into the market. (Maybe Entertainment Earth can release a 4 pack featuring R-3PO, K-3PO, TC-70 and C-3PO from Attack of the Clones?)
CONS: It has taken a very long time for C-3PO to finally come to fruition and I can’t help but feel that it’s a slight let down in execution. While the figure is painted in a vibrant gold hue, it’s the omission of vac-metal finish that is really the main point of contention. Secondly, this figure severely lacks in the accessory department. Other than a secondary gold arm or removable panels (like the 3.75″ Black Series version), there isn’t a lot of “stuff” you could add to this figure to make it more interesting. Maybe the map key pulled from BB-8? Finally, the red arm should have been given a dark wash (as seen in the film) to pop some of the details in its sculpt. It looks too flat and honestly cheap with out it. What Hasbro saved in articulation, accessories and finish, could have easily been used to accentuate that “phantom limb”.
Head to the toyguide for our detailed image gallery and to judge for yourself whether this figure is worth adding to your collection.

Yakface reader Charlie G. writes in with store report after finding the Han Solo Elite Series figure this morning in Lutz, FL:
Just wanted to say I was at a Disney Store Outlet this morning and purchased the Han Solo you guys recently mentioned. The store also had about 12 of the First Order Squad Leaders figures in stock but I passed on it. The outlet bizarrely only received two Han Solo figures, one of which I purchased. Happy Hunting!
Jedi Temple Archives has received info regarding the imminent release of a Han Solo (The Force Awakens) die cast figure in the Elite Series line at Disney Store. Look for this figure to join the First Order Stormtrooper Officer (revealed back on 9/29) in the US on Nov. 1.
Instagram follower @akastarwars shares this photo with us, revealing the recently announced Toys”R”Us exclusive 6 pack of figures from The Force Awakens. These sets were found at a TRU near Denver. Click the image for a closer look.
