A search this morning through the United States Patent and Trademark Office has revealed two new registered names by Lucasfilm. At this time, we aren’t sure what film/game/project they are tied to, but click through for a peek at the new names.

UPDATE: Looks like Stitch Kingdom was on the same wavelength as I was this morning and posted a similar article before I did. Head on over to check out some of the history and previous references to Valara at StitchKingdom.com

  • Grant

Remember Lady Val too from the old EU?

  • Jason

If they follow anything about the old EU, Mon Destra could be a Mon Calamari planet or ship name.

  • CJ

I’m not an expert on intellectual property law, but these are both international class 041. That class is specifically for educational or entertainment services. Generally this class is used for titles of movies, TV shows, video games, or companies that produce these things. If you go search for any of the “known” TFA characters, you’ll see lots of different registrations, but none in class 041. Class 028, for example, is the one that covers action figures.

So unless more registrations pop up under these names there’s no reason at all to think that these are characters, unless we think they might get their own spin-off media.

They seemed like names of places to me off the bat, so perhaps they are associated with the Disney parks announcement: “services having the basic aim of the entertainment, amusement or recreation of people”
