It seems Hasbro is bringing us at least one variation either on the figures themselves or the packaging on each wave! Yak Reader Jeremy sent in this report and the above images:

I can’t believe no one else has seen this very obvious variant of Meena Tills #47 figure. There are two very distinct variants on the paint color on the face. One is a flesh/pink color and the other is a tan/white color. I will attach photos. I found these at Wal-mart in Ogden, Utah. Thanks.

Star Wars TV Series Scoop

The team over at Ain’t It Cool News has posted the run down in English from an interview McCallum recently gave in Japan. The TV Series will focus on the 20 years between Sith and A New Hope. We will see Luke grow up and how characters ended up together– could this include Han’s resuce of Chewie from an Imperial execution????? Maybe we’ll see the Emperor’s court through the eyes of Leia as a young senator. According to the interview the series is planned for about 100 hour long episodes– sounds like it’s planned for 3-4 seasons. Read the full story here.

Clone Trooper 3 Pack Color Variants Found

YakReader moonbase7 comes through again with another great find, this time with the variant color Clone Trooper 3 packs along with info and picture below. “Here is a pic of the new clone trooper army builders this time around they are showing up in green and brown colors as well as the common white . So far i have thease have only showed up at Target stores, this set was found in CA.”

Most of the Targets in my area seem to be phasing out the Deluxe figures and I have not heard of the Clone 3 packs being found at any Targets in the North Texas area. In fact, the few that have been lucky to find them have done so at Wal-Mart. I would imagine that during the course of the release that there is the possibility of 5 color variants, just as we saw during the Clone Wars. This is all speculation on my part. I am just hoping to be lucky enough to find any of them at all. Good Luck hunting everyone!

New Poll – Who’s His Daddy?

Despite the fantastic action scenes and of course, the birth of Darth Vader, One of the best scenes in ROTS was the conversation between Anakin and Palpatine at the Opera. There, Palpatine reveals some interesting Sith history and lays the foundation for a plot thread that will be debated by fans for years.

His dialogue hints that he may have had a hand in Anakin’s “virgin birth” as revealed in Episode I, though there are other fans who feel Darth Plagueis is the real culprit.

So now we ask you, who do YOU think is Anakin’s father? Sidioius? Darth Plagueis? was he truly a miracle of the Midi-Cholorians, or do you feel it has yet to be revealed? Vote now!

“In a lucky find i scored the anakin # 50 wave #48 and #49 at my local CA wal-mart this morning. this wave was mentioned to be re-leashed in early august it was a real shock to find them so soon.”

I like you am a Star Wars fan. Having said that, I would like to clarify that the All Time figures you cite really are meaningless and misleading if they are not adjusted for inflation. For example, it is inaccurate to compare the original Star Wars Box Office, or even Empire’s 1980 receipts to Revenge of the Sith, the other prequels, or for that matter any other movie released in another year unless inflation adjustments are made. The statistics you really want to cite are also at the Box Office Mojo website and are found here: http://www.boxofficemojo.com/alltime/adjusted.htm.Note that ROTS is #83 there. Meanwhile Episode IV is #2, Empire is #12, and ROTJ is #14.

Revenge of the Sith is marching on– in just its 4th week of release it saw a weekend gross of $14.8 million, bring it’s domestic gross to over $332.1 million. That places ROTS in the 13th slot on the all time highest domestic grossing films– rapidly frying Finding Nemo in #12 and laying seige to The Two Towers at #11. Incidently, Sith has now passed ALL the films in the Harry Potter franchise!

Sith Marches On

The Box Office Mojo is reporting that Revenge of the Sith has passed Attack of the Clones for 17th place on the all time highest grossing movies list, with a domestic gross of just over $312,600,000! 2.1 million behind Fellowship of the Ring. If Sith keeps up its current pace it will probably be knocking on the door of the top 10 all time by next Monday.

Revenge of the Sith’s Monday box office has propelled it past Return of the Jedi to spot #18 on the all time highest grossing movie list according to the Box Office Mojo‘s highest grossing movies of all time list. It is about $300,000 behind Clones and has probably already passed it with today’s receipts.

While slightly off topic – never fear – there is still a Star Wars connection!

Dark Horse and Topps sketch card artist Killian Plunkett has inked a great new graphic novel based on the BMW films “The Hire” from a few years ago, one of which starred Madonna. The new graphic novel is entitled Precious Cargo, with the story written by Bruce Campell from Army of Darkness fame. This is a great change of pace from other comic genres and has top notch writing and artwork to enjoy.

Star Wars Weekends At Disney Extended

Disney World in Florida has announced that Star Wars Weekends will be extended for two additional weeks– the last weekend is now June 26! No word yet on the promotions for those weekends, however we’ll bring you the 411 as soon as we get it.

Star Wars Novels Update

The Official Site has announced a couple of upcoming novels for this fall that sound outstanding. First is an omnibus editiion of Labrynth of Evil and Revenge of the Sith, which will also include a CD-ROM of bonus material similar to what we saw with the Unifying Force at the end of the New Jedi Order. If you haven’t read Labrynth of Evil, I cannot recommend it highly enough, it’s events literally lead right up to the first scene in Revenge of the Sith. Check it out here.

The second piece of news is a Darth Vader novel set after Episode III! Dark Lord: The Rise of Darth Vader will be penned by Luceno and hit newsstands November 22. Here’s the details.

Sith Slips To #3 At Box Office… Barely, Passes Empire On All Time Highest Grossing Films

The Box Office Mojo is reporting that ‘Revenge of the Sith’ may have been knocked out of the top spot, but it nonetheless became the fastest picture to cross the $300 million mark, achieving the milestone in 17 days. For the weekend, ‘Madagascar’ was No. 1 by default as ‘Cinderella Man’ had an unexpectedly rocky start. They are also showing Sith at #19 on the all time highest grossing movies– already passing Empire and it will probably pass Jedi and this week– probably just with Monday’s grosses! Check it out here.

Hasbro Toy Store Comments

I just wanted to take some time to alert others to the shamefully poor performance of the newly launched HasbroToyShop.com. Maybe my experience is unqiue, but I fear that others may have had the same experience.

I had taken the time to contact their customer support department and initially, they seemed to be doing the right thing. My first order placed on 5/6 was for qty 2 of the deluxe figure sets Yoda with the Can Cell, Vader Operating Table and the Clone Trooper with Firing Jetpack. At the time of order, all these items were shown to be in stock and I paid the premium for next day delivery because I had a planned vacation coming up and didn’t want deliveries happening while I was away.

The first delivery was shipped on 5/9 and was qty 2 Yoda with the Can Cell. When I opened the package I was disappointed to find that the plastic bubble shell was all scratched up and looked like it had been on the pegs at a retail store for weeks. I promptly contacted customer support and advised them of the poor quality of the first shipment. They responded soon after and advised that they would send repalcements and that I could keep the others that were scratched. The repalcements were not shipped until 5/20.

The second delivery was shipped on 5/20 and was the qty 2 of the Vader operating table. Thankfully, this highly desired set arrive in good condition.

The third delviery was shipped on 5/23and was qty 2 of the Clone Trooper with Firing Jetpack. Regretably when I opened the package, both items were crushed together. The box used for shipping wasn’t damaged. Too small of a box was used and the items were crushed in order to close and seal the package. Again I contacted customer service and adivsed of the dismal packaging and quality of the products being received.

I am completely disappointed with HasbroToyShop.com’s performance. They are late with shipments and the items received are either damaged or in very poor condition. It is a complete waste of money to pay a premium for expedited shipping. Frankly, I’d rather hunt pegs on foot than chance another order with HasbroToyStore. On the other hand, I have had excellent results with Shop.Starwars.com, Toys R Us (Amazon) and Target online (poor selection). I have had better luck with the shipping of Ebay purchases than the amatuer performance of HasbroToyShop.com.

Wave 3 Deluxe Card Back Error?

“I like your sight and I find it very informative, I would like to alert you to the ROTS Clone Trooper 3 pack variant card. On the back of card, the little picture of the Spider Droid has the description of Crab Droid and the little picture of the Crab Droid has the description of Spider Droid. I would assume that this will be fixed soon. Just wanted to alert the Yakface readers to this.”

While opening up my Anakin Unleashed figure today (to put on my desk at work), and while attaching the lava splashes to the base I noticed something strange. If you look at the photo above, on the bottom of the base, you will see the hands of a Super Battle Droid reaching through what looks like a grated floor!. There is also a hole for a peg to attach an unleashed figure. I would assume this is actually from one of the many deleted scenes from ROTS. I haven’t yet opened my Obi-Wan Unleashed figure but I’m betting that it has a similar sculpt. Click the photo above for a more detailed view!

Lucas Interview At C3 Transcript

Long story short — I managed to slip in a VERY well-received question during the George Lucas Q & A session at the recent Star Wars Celebration III. Not only that, I actually made George bust out
laughing — along with Rick McCallum, Jay Lega’aia and about 3,300
audience members! This article is a photo-filled account of the event , complete with an MP3 of said humorous exchange. A genuinely funny moment between the Father of the Force and a fan dressed as the bananafication of Darth Vader.
