Yodas News.com’s spy Network reports that after the great success of Darth Tater and The Spud Trooper, a Third Mr. Potato Head is in the works and it will be a R2-D2 themed version.
You also may have heard rumors that the old VOTC line is making a
comeback and some reports of a mail away figure. According to Yodasnews VOTC is coming back but, it wont be called VOTC, it will be called The Ultimate Bounty HuntCollection. The line will kick off in 2006 and as of right now, it will include 5 figures.
This new line will also have a mail away offer for a George Lucas
Stormtrooper figure when you send in 5 coupons that you will have to cut from the back of the cards from The Ultimate Bounty Hunt Collection line (So it looks like MOC collectors will be picking up 2 sets of these). Of course, this is still subject to change but it is latest we have heard. Check back for more info, we will let you know as soon as we get it! It sounds like Hasbro is going to make it another great year for collectors in 2006!

UPDATE ROTS Gunships At KB

Again, I don’t know how wide spread this is, but at my local KB Toys this evening, there were 7-8 ROTS Gunships on the shelf at $29.99ea along with the ARC-170 FIghters.
Many folks are still hunting for this hot vehicle, so KB might be worth a stop on your next toy run.

” I’m located in Westchester County, NY and I can confirm Republic Gunships at 2 KB Toys stores in my area. I picked up one for $29.99 (far less than the secondary market prices). I’m guessing these are part of a second wave from Hasbro as mine came with a ROTS catalog that had “Fall 2005” written on the cover. Thanks for the update! “

Absolutely positively true. At least here in the Metro Detroit area.
My friend Rich wrote to tell me that his local Best Buy store were clearing out the exclusive lithograph by artist Shepard Fairey for only one cent! No Reward Zone membership required, no additional purchases. He picked up two for himself.
So I hit a separate store to try my luck and sure enough, scored three for one cent each!
Don’t know what every Best Buy store policy is going to be like nationwide, but if you opted for one of the other exclusvies, (I went for Wal-Mart’s extra DVD myself) it could be worth looking into, good luck!
UPDATE Looks like at some Best Buy stores, in order to get the litho for a penny, you at least have to buy SOMETHING, though not necessarily SW related. Here’s Jaret from Tulsa, OK with a report…
” Went to my Best Buy. The only way they would sell it to me for a penny was to buy something with it which did not have to be the Episode III dvd. Came out with 3 other dvds. Can never have too many. ”
UPDATE 2 Curt tells us that his BB didn’t require an additional purchase either…
” I went to my Best Buy in Lewisville Texas and was able to get lithos for myself and a few for friends and didn’t have to buy anything else at all. Actually, I bought all 51 they had left. Total: $.55. Curt. ”
So it’s looking like they’re a penny pretty much everywhere, but the purchase requirements differ from store to store.

” It was my lucky day today, I went into Target in Enfield, CT and I found the new trooper Evolution pack, Hologram Plo Koon, Holo Aayla Secura. I asked it they had the Utapau Shadow Trooper, and they went in the back and they found a box of them. When I got to the check out the shadow trooper was comming up as not to be stocked till 11/20/05. The team member was cool and she rang it out at $12.99 same as the Lava Vader and Obi-Wan. I was even able to get an empty box of the Shadow Troopers. To everyone keep looking things are starting to hit the stores now, and if you ask nice you might be able to score a Trooper early. Today at my local Target I grabbed the latest wave of those cute little Galactic Heroes. Keep your eyes out for Darth Vader with Holographic Palaptine, Yoda with Kashyyyk Trooper, Obi-Wan with Utapau Clone Trooper and “Dark Side” Anakin (complete with sith eyes) with 501 Clone Trooper. Very Cool!
