Star Wars Rogue One Details Revealed

In case you weren’t at Celebration Anaheim, or weren’t plugged into social media, you may have missed that a teaser for Star Wars: Rogue One as shown at the Gareth Edwards and Josh Trank panel. Click on through for a quick plot synopsis and details from the panel.

The teaser features Obi-Wan’s famous “For a thousand years….” speech laid over a panning shot of a dense forest with TIE Fighters flying (away) over head. As the camera pans up we see a faint arc in the sky revealing through the tree tops the Death Star. The screen then cuts to black revealing Star Wars Rogue One Anthology* title card and then frantic voice over of rebel forces in distress.

This movie is set between Episodes III and IV leaning closer to the events of A New Hope. There are no Jedi in this film as stated by Gareth Edwards.

The plot is “A rogue band of resistance fighters unite for a daring mission to steal the Death Star plans…”

Crew for Star Wars Rogue One has been pulled from war films – Saving Private Ryan, Zero Dark Thirty, Blackhawk Down.

Filming starts this summer for at December 16 release.
