Variation hunters rejoice/commit seppuku. Despite Hasbro’s insistence that running changes are too hard to manage, it appears that another switcheroo has been made in the kid targeted Saga Legends line. Joining Obi-Wan and the Battle Droids is Darth Vader (SL06) which now sports the “500th Vader” sculpt. Initial production runs of this Legends release included a repack of the TLC BD08 sculpt. VC13 Anakin Skywalker
The Yakface Toyguide updates continue today with addition of the Anakin Skywalker (Darth Vader) from the Vintage Collection.
PROS: The definitive ROTS Anakin/Pre-Suit Vader. Takes the TAC version and gives it the arm articulation it deserved all along. New head sculpt is pretty sweet too.
CONS: None.

UPDATE – Clone Wars Nikto Guard
This exclusive figure has now been found at retail! Specifically, at a Toys”R”Us in central Iowa by forumite Grimace.
UPDATE 9/26 – Thanks to Paulskywalker for some great up close pics of this figure loose – be sure to check them out HERE.
Upcoming Exclusives on eBay
A couple of upcoming exclusive figures have turned up on eBay recently – Ysanne Isard and Geonosis C-3PO.
Both figures look great, and hopefully it won’t be too long before these are officially out. But until then if your patience gets the best of you, you can get them a bit early.
The Return of Clone Cash
Yakface Forum Member “darth_sidious” reports that upon opening his newest Clone Wars wave 3 figures, he discovered the return of the $5 Clone Cash coupons valid toward the purchase of a vehicle. As you may recall, Clone Cash was inserted into Clone Wars figures last year when the packaging changed over and I guess it was successful enough to warrant a return.
CW10 General Grievous (Battle Damaged)
The Yakface Toyguide updates resume today with the addition of General Grievous (Battle Damaged) from the Clone Wars Collection.
PROS: A great second attempt from Hasbro in bringing us a correctly scaled and highly articulated droid general. Interchangeable and removable parts are fun. Legs seem to be holding up rather well in the warping department.
CONS: Shoulder plates fall off far too easily – even with the slightest of arm movement.

Hasbro Cutting Back on Quality?
There have been forgivable instances in the past where Hasbro’s white armored military (clones and stormies) end up yellowing over time.
But over the past year you may have found that more and more figures that are brand new and still hanging on the pegs are suffering from this (look closely next time you are at a store – there is a good chance you’ll notice this on the new Legends Clone Troopers and perhaps even some Clone Wars figures).
Is Hasbro trying to save a buck by using cheaper plastic that turns parts of these figures yellow and sometimes even green right after they are produced?
Sound off with your thoughts in the Yakface Forums.
UPDATE – Our friends at both Banthaskull and Jeditemplearchives have addressed this as well. Hasbro should be fully aware of this problem. Time will tell how they respond.
Clone Wars Nikto Guard Coming Soon
Upon visiting my local Toys”R”Us today, I managed to take a peek at the planogram been used to reset the aisle and it indicates that the exclusive Clone Wars Nikto Guard (Puko Naga) is part of this reset and should be hitting stores in the next few days.
Saga Legends Battle Droid Eyes on the Mend
Looks like Hasbro has again taken heed regarding our complaints toward the oversized and misplaced eyes of the new Battle Droids in the Saga Legends line and have modified their paint operations to produce a more accurate figure. So if you’re looking for a better representation of the Geonosis Battle Droid (or are a variation hunter), you might want to take a little extra time in those aisles to track this version down.
