The Yakface Toyguide updates resume today with the addition of a few of the latest variants from the Vintage Collection. Next up: VC44 Luke Skywalker (Dagobah Landing).
This running change corrects the pale blue lightsaber which shipped in this figure’s original run and replaced it with a darker, more vibrant blue mold.

PROS: Fantastic esthetically and the likeness is near perfect for the animated character. The fabric for the skirt is some of the best I’ve see in the modern era of collecting.
CONS: This will be a sticking point for some – articulation. There are no knee or ankle joints and the elbow only feature simple swivel joints.

The Yakface Toyguide updates resume today with the addition of Jango Fett from the Vintage Collection’s Attack of the Clones wave (Wave 4).
PROS: Pretty much the definitive Jango in terms of sculpt and accessories. Re-worked, scene specific gauntlets are a nice touch as is the new jetpack and missile.
CONS: The gauntlet blades are not removable (i.e. they are deployed all the time). Overall color of the jumpsuit seems to still be “off” a bit but it’s a vast improvement over the grape flavored version included in the recent Geonosis Arena set.

The Yakface Toyguide gets a quick update today with the addition of the newly discovered packaging variant for the AT-RT Driver from the Vintage Collection’s Wave 6.
This variation relocates the separately packaged backpack and attached it (upside down) to the figures back. Not sure why they went this route as it seems like an unnecessary change as well as making it look like the figure comes with less “stuff”. Anywho… just a heads up for those still interested in variants.

The Yakface Toyguide updates resume today with the addition of the Super Battle Droid from the Vintage Collection’s Attack of the Clones wave (Wave 4). PROS: Decent sculpt with Geonosis specific deco (at least on the legs). “Swirled” plastic helps convey the look of metal. Looks great on the Vintage cardback and the superfluous blaster pistol is great for customs or the parts bin.
CONS: Lacks the ankle joints present on the recent Geonosis Arena sculpt. Shoulder joints are still impossibly tight when trying to position them laterally.

The Yakface Toyguide updates resume today with the addition of Fi-Ek Sirch (Jedi Knight); the final figure from the Vintage Collection’s Wave 6. PROS: Hasbro went “all-in” in addressing the problems of the original Nikto Jedi. This all new figure is loaded with articulation (except ball-joint hips), features an excellent sculpt and has the coolest robe of any Jedi available thus far thanks to Hasbro’s choice of fabric.
CONS: None. Buy it!
