It Is Just a Flesh Wound (or is it?)

While reviewing some of the new images in Rebelscum’s SDCC coverage, I noticed what looks like a possible painted “flesh wound” on one of the SDCC samples for Rey. As you can see above, the one on the left (shown today at the Hasbro Breakfast) has a bloody slice/scratch on the right arm, but the figure on the right from the show floor doesn’t – yet there looks to be a sculpted “deformity” sans blood. What do you think – battle-damage or a simple errant paint job? A variant between the SDCC release and the retail version?

Well, the Knights of Ren seem to have bladed weapons, so maybe one of them cuts her?

  • Jeff Wickson

This is why you release Resistance Rey FIRST !!!!!! Then after the movie, you release Jedi training Rey Skywalker with Luke’s whisker cuts. (from the fatherly hug he gave her)

Rey Skywalker? But that would be like rehashing the LukeVader relationship from the OT. Oh..right…

  • Jeff Wickson

It’s a scratch from Luke’s beard……..after they hugged because Luke is her father !!

    Definitely a flesh wound!

    It’s a Porg bitemark :p

OMG what if it is? LOL

the one on the right, the head sculpt and paint apps are awful.

What if it’s the same (sculpt, paint), and it’s the camera and lighting that makes it look not so flattering?

And all the paint jobs on the retail versions will be less detailed and bad.

I noticed that and wondered. Is it me or do the faces look different? Or is it the lighting, as the one on the left looks better.

I noticed that too, but with Yazflow’s history of poor paint apps, i assumed it was her lipstick

Think it is some Lucasfilm Plot secrecy conflicting with Hasbro wanting to show the new Sculpt’s. The one on the Floor was most likely was painted to try and hide the Wound, but the one from the Breakfast was not hidden. It being in the Sculpt tell’s me it is supposed to be there.
