The Sneak Preview Figures Have Arrived…

SNEAK PREVIEW FIGURES ARE HERE!

Well, not in my city, but close… read on.

This weekend I struck gold when I decided to take a drive to look for clearance OTC product. Saturday in Yuba City, CA Wal-Mart I found the 4 sneak preview ROTS figures hanging on the pegs! They had roughly 12 General Grevious, 12 Wookie Warriors, 6 Tion Medon and 6 R4-G9 hanging on the pegs. I bought one of each. Also Saturday in Oroville, CA Wal-mart I picked up the last C-3PO Carrying Case for $11.00

I decided to go back to Yuba City Sunday to pick up two more sets for my friends after hearing from a Chico Wal-mart associate that she saw the box arrive but it says: “Do not display until Feb. 1st”. I also found the last Darth Vader Carrying Case, a little beat up, but also $11.00 and they had VOTC Luke, Leia, Han, and Ben for $5.00 each.

I headed south to Woodland, CA (my hometown) and their Wal-mart also put out A LOT of sneak preview figures in fancy cardboard displays on an isle endcap. COLLECTORS, THERE ARE PLENTY! BE PATIENT! I am more concerned in finding the Post OTC Sandtrooper… No post OTC or clearance there. The 3 Cantina figures and a few animated Clone Wars were at Target in Woodland.

On to Sacramento, CA (2 different Wal-mart’s had no clearance left and no new figures hanging).

On to Roseville, CA Wal-mart: Once again, NO clearance anywhere but more fancy cardboard cases of preview figures in the isle. I asked a clerk if I could have a cardboard display because it was almost empty. I have included a picture for your enjoyment! Target: one ’05 Yoda and a few Animated Clone Wars.

Going backwards a bit, Friday at Chico Target I was able to pick up the 3 new Clone Wars Animated figures, plus a “blue” and “red” clone trooper, but not “yellow” one. This was, I believe, the 3rd time they had gotten them, but I missed out at first. Chico Kmart, Yuba City Kmart, and Yuba City Toys R Us also had remainders of Animated Clone Wars + either Wave 1 or 2 of post OTC.

I’ve seen ’05 versions of Dagobah Luke, ANH Darth Vader, Han Solo, Chewbacca, Dagobah Yoda, and one Stormtrooper hanging on shelves this weekend, but NO Scout Trooper or Sandtrooper. Unleashed Dooku and Mace hang on Shelves, but NO Vader…

New Game Announced…

Lucasarts.com has just announced an amazing new game! According to their website: PC players will have the opportunity to control the fate of the galaxy in an all new real-time strategy (RTS) game titled Star Wars: Empire at War.

Set a few years before the events of Episode IV: A New Hope, the game will allow players to rewrite history, as well as experience the aftermath of Episode III, the creation of the Rebel Alliance and Darth Vader’s rise to power. Star Wars: Empire at War is scheduled for a release in Fall 2005.

Hi, I was able to grab a Slave 1 in Albany NY for $7.48!!! Only one there which still had the $20.38 clearance sticker so I guess nobody bothered to scan and check it, I did!! Nice deals, also grabbed some 12″VOTC’s at $6.67 each, glass/figure sets at $2.48, otc/saga fig’s at $1.18 in Conneticut Target yesterday. I was also able to grab some Falcons at $12.48 each, super uber great deal!! I needed one to go along with my Sam’s club Falcon and held out, glad I did.

And Yak Reader Amiec reports:

Just FYI, I went to Target today looking for $12.98 Falcons and they had none (no Falcons at all, and the clearance aisle was gone). Then on a grocery shopping trip to Super Wal Mart (Spfld, IL) my wife found 34 Falcons all for $12 each. She snagged me two for customs, but I thought your readers might want to know Wal Marts are also a good stop for people looking to pick one of these up at a deep discount.

How Low Can The Prices Go?

I just back from my local Wal*Mart (Lufkin, Texas) and they had put out a ton of VOTC figures. I picked up 4 VOTC Stormtroopers and was expecting to pay the marked $7.00 but when I checked out, they rang up at $3.00 each. I headed back to the toy section and got the remaining 3 VOTC Stormtroopers when I noticed they had even more VOTC on another isle. I found Chewbacca and 3 more Stormtroopers.

They also had the Lego Falcon for $45, Lego Snowspeeder and Cantina sets for $10 each, and the X-Wing for $25.

I went right over to Target and found two 12″ VOTC Stormtroopers, one Luke, and one Boba Fett, all for $10.00 each. They had the Bespin wave Saga figures for $3.54 and the first four VOTC for $7.00. They had no Lego Star Wars discounted but they had all the Harry Potter and Spider-Man Lego sets pretty cheap.

Galactic Heroes Reshipping

I don’t know if anyone has posted about this or even noticed it yet,
but the wave 1 (ANH) Galactic Heroes are showing back up with a
Preview Insert instead of the OTC insert. Good news for those who
have not been able to get them, and bad news for the completests.
Also I was able to score a set of the Tatooine wave in Nashville,
AR which always seems to be the last place on Earth to get
anything new, so if you have not seen them yet, they are coming.
Finally, I scored a Speederbike/Luke Jedi Force at the TRU in
Texarkana, TX… they also had the Jedi Force figs, all of this was in the regular Playskool sectioin and not in with the other SW toys like Target is doing in the area.
