HTS.com CIV Luke Email Notification
May 30, 2007 | 6:53 PM EST | Jayson
The rumors were true. I (like many of you) received this email in my inbox this afternoon from HasbroToyShop.com. It reads…..
Recently you purchased a “Star Wars Ralph McQuarrie Signature Series Concept Luke Skywalker Figure with Collector Coin” using the Hasbro Friends & Family promotion code. As advertised*, this item was not eligible for use with that promotion.
To remedy this situation, we will remove the discount from this item, apply any additional shipping charges that may apply, and ship your order on June 11, 2007.
If this remedy is not acceptable please call our customer service center at 1-800-408-0052 by June 9, 2007 to cancel your order. If we do not hear from you, we will assume that you have agreed to the changes noted. We regret any inconvenience this may have caused.
* The “as advertsed” text that accompanied the initial promotion code on 5/17/07 reads:
25% off and free standard shipping is only valid at the web site toward currently available product. Some exclusions apply (such as Star Wars Celebration IV action figures). Discount is pre-tax. Offer expires 5/28/07 at 11:59pm (et). Cannot be combined with other coupons or offers. May not be used to purchase gift cards.
Obviously, the above “disclaimer/fine print” text was not included on the order page for the CIV Luke figure, nor was the “Adjust My Price” feature disabled at the time of ordering. So take that for what it’s worth.
It goes without saying that the customer service dept will be hearing a Yoda’s ear full from angry/disappointed shoppers. To voice your opinion, send your emails to: customerservice@hasbrotoyshop.com

Star Wars TV Movie Talk Shot Down & No CIV Footage
May 22, 2007 | 10:42 AM EST | Jayson
Movie news site Dark Horizons has apparently cleared up some info regarding the rumored Star Wars TV Movies.
Talking with Movieweb, Lucasfilm fan relations head Steve Sansweet dismissed the talk and cleared up the status of current projects.
“I can absolutely tell you that is not true… There are going to be two more Star Wars television series. One of them is well into production. That is Star Wars: Clone Wars. It’s a CG animated show, which we suspect will be on the air sometime next year. And then George and Rick McCallum were just now starting work on a live action series. A drama. That will probably be coming out in 2009 or 2010. He is actively at work on both of those. But the CG animated series is more adult. It has a lot of humor in it. It is very cinematic.”
Sansweet also confirms that there’s no plans to air footage at the upcoming SW Celebration convention – “The TV show has not yet found a home on television. Until that happens, they are telling me that they are unable to show any actual footage.”

Episode 91: 1994 Microsized and a CIV Pre-Game Show!
May 21, 2007 | 6:22 AM EST | Jayson

The Star Wars Action News team is in full con mode. Marjorie is walking fast, Scott is already in California and Arnie is stressing about the Gentle Giant Yoda exclusive. But yet they didn’t let their preoccupation with Celebration prevent them from bringing you another jam packed episode of Star Wars Action News! Scott reveals his store reports, and listeners call in telling you where they found the newest VTSC figures, the newest Hasbro Vehicles, as well as where they found a Celebration 3 Vader for sale at Toys R Us! And Arnie and Marjorie reflect back to Arnie’s collecting in 1994, the Micro Machines vehicle three packs and Action Fleet vehicles.
After that, it’s all C4. We have an interview with the author of The Force in the Flesh, Matt and John return to run down all the famous names in the artists gallary, and Marjorie and Arnie do a “virtual walkthrough” of the exhibit floor covering which vendors have which exclusives and how you can get them. Finally the hosts wrap up with some general reminders and tips on how to survive Celebration 4. From where to find toilet paper to how to prevent medical emergencies to just how to make friends out of strangers, they cover it all in this week’s Star Wars Action News!
In addition, we have not one, but two contests going on. First, if you are going to Celebration 4, listen in or go to www.swactionnews.com to find out about our Flickr.com Celebration 4 photo competition. The winner will receive a copy of J.W. Rinsler’s “The Making of Star Wars” courtesy of Del Rey Books and a copy of the Star Wars Complete Visual Dictionary courtesy of DK Books!
Not going to C4? That’s okay, we have another contest! The History Channel, in commemoration of its upcoming Star Wars special The Legacy Revealed, debuting Memorial Day at 9 p.m. (8 Central), is giving away two prize packages which include exclusive Legacy Revealed shirts, posters, and trading cards! Enter at www.swactionnews.com
You can download this week’s show from www.swactionnews.com or directly from here.
Thank you for listening, we’ll talk to you next from California!
And remember, don’t refer to Star Wars Celebration 4 as C4 in an airport!

Wave 5 Revealed Too Soon?
May 20, 2007 | 6:05 PM EST | Jayson
EntertainmentEarth sent out its weekly email newsletter this weekend with anice shot and details of the upcoming Wave 5 assortment of figures which focuses heavily on Expanded Universe characters.
This wave consists of an Imperial Stormtrooper, Darth Vader (McQuarrie), Hermi Odle, C-3PO w/Salacious Crumb, Roron Corobb, Yoda & Kybuck Steed, Tattooed Anakin Skywalker from Clone Wars, Darth Malak, Pre-Cyborg Grievous (Qymaen jai Sheelal) and the McQuarrie “Starkiller Hero” a female humanoid which eventually evolved into Luke and Leia.
Now a few hours later, when I visit my inbox, the accompanying photo for that EU wave has been pulled and the link directs you to a page on Entertainment Earth stating:
STAR WARS 30TH ANNIVERSARY FIGURES WAVE 5
The item number ‘HS87500E’ is no longer available. This item was removed from our website on Sunday, May 20, 2007.

Toyguide Update: Princess Leia (in Combat Poncho)
May 19, 2007 | 10:36 PM EST | Jayson

The Toyguide updates conclude today with the addition of Princess Leia Organa (in Combat Poncho), the sixth and final of new Vintage “UGH” Figures for 2007. Joining the ranks of Han Solo and Luke Skywalker in their Endor Gear, Princess Leia sports her own removeable poncho and helmet. And underneath, we get a nice articulated version of General Leia Organa from the Rebel Briefing scene.

Toyguide Update: Han Solo (Hoth Outfit)
May 19, 2007 | 10:25 PM EST | Jayson

The Toyguide updates continue with the addition of Han Solo (Hoth Outfit), the fifth in the series of six new Vintage “UGH” Figures. Sadly, this one is disappointing for me due to the awkward appearance when the cap and goggle accessory is utilized, too bad we didn’t get the alternate head (hood up) version instead that our friends at JediDefender spied at Toyfair

Toyguide Update: Bossk (Bounty Hunter)
May 19, 2007 | 9:56 PM EST | Jayson

The Toyguide updates continue with the addition of Bossk (Bounty Hunter), the fourth in the series of six new Vintage “UGH” Figures. Bossk finally receives the super-articulated treatment and this version doesn’t leave much room for improvement. I suppose they could have included some Wookiee pelts. : P

Toyguide Update: IG-88 (Bounty Hunter)
May 19, 2007 | 9:29 PM EST | Jayson

The Toyguide updates tonight with the addition of IG-88 (Bounty Hunter), the third in the series of six new Vintage “UGH” Figures. Take every previous version of IG-88 you currently own throw them in the recycling bin, becauseTHIS IS the definitive IG-88. This may be one of the most intricately sculpted, articulated and assembled figures Hasbro has created. Although we received two of the weapons before, we’re treated to a new ax that is mounted to it back and a working holster. Too bad the supplied blaster doesn’t fit in it.
And here is a warning: IG-88’s bandolier has what looks to be 3 removable Thermal Detonators, one of them (the one highest on the shoulder) came off just fine and could be easily reattached, the next one’s peg snapped off inside the detonator! It might be best to just leave them alone and not risk damaging your newest acquisition.

The Official Site has updated with information on a new entry in the Star Wars Expanded Universe– the Star Wars Saga told from Vader’s point of view. Goodbye
May 15, 2007 | 12:37 AM EST | Scott
It is with a mixture of sadness and joy that I make the following announcement.
Joy because in about 5 weeks, my wife and I will welcome our 2nd child, our daughter Claire, into our family. She will join her big brother Connor who is 2-1/2.
Joy also because, in what couldn’t be better timing for our family at this point in our lives, I recently landed a brand new job as a Graphic Designer at a local advertising agency.
But the sadness comes from the realization that I must streamline some things in my life and one of the things that must go is my position here at Yakface. I simply can’t devote the time to it that I was once able to.
I’ve only been with the site for a couple years, but I’ve had an absolute ball working on it. I’ve been very lucky to have made some great friends and had many laughs along the way.
As for the Hasbro Q & A which I was heading up, that will now be left in the more than capable hands of our very own Jayson, HE will show you the TRUE nature of the Q & A, HE is your master now!…LOL.
Though I won’t be an official Yak staffer anymore, I will still be a presence in the forums and may even pass on the occasional news item to my old Yak buddies as it comes my way.
So thanks to all of you, both Yak staff and readers alike, for making my time here so much fun. I will truly miss it.
Your friend in The Force,
Scott C. (YAK_Clavius in the forums)

Hasbro Q & A – Great Answers At Low, Low Prices!
May 11, 2007 | 11:30 PM EST | Scott

So anyway, I was in the alley behind the grocery store this evening getting the crap kicked out of me by a 287 lb. checkout woman named Mildred because I tried to pass off 40 cans of pickled herring as one item in the express lane, when it occured to me…
“Great Kubrick’s ghost! I’ve forgotten all about the Hasbro Q & A!”
So having curled myself up in the fetal position and sobbing like a newly born infant, Mildred couldn’t bring herself to continue her ham-fisted assault upon my person. And so it was that I peeled myself up off the moist evening asphalt, plucked chunks of congealed herring out of my clothing, and raced home with all due speed to provide you, loyal reader with the answers to the questions you are longing for.
Click above and enjoy this evening’s installment, I’ll enjoy my herring.

Lucas Making 2 Star Wars TV Movies?
May 9, 2007 | 10:20 AM EST | Jayson
At this week’s Time Magazine All-Star Dinner, George Lucas was tight-lipped about the upcoming Indy IV feature, the Clone Wars Animated Series for TV and the live action TV series. But, he divulged that he will make two more live-action films based in the “Star Wars” era.
“But they won’t have members of the Skywalker family as characters,” he said. “They will be other people of that milieu.”
The two extra films will also be made for TV and probably be an hour long each. But, like “Clone Wars,” Lucas doesn’t know where on TV they will land.
Hopefully we’ll get further confirmation and/or clarification at CIV.
More details the jump.
Star Wars Weekends 2007 411
May 9, 2007 | 7:37 AM EST | Bill
Here’s the latest on Star Wars Weekends— straight from Disney:
“Star Wars” Weekends with Star Warwick Davis
For a few weekends every year, Disney/MGM Studios Theme Park becomes an outpost of a galaxy far, far away — unearthly characters in getups beautiful and bizarre roam the streets, browsers congregate at an exotic bazaar to choose among limited-edition treasures found in few places throughout the galaxy, and everywhere can be heard the immortal words “May the Force be with you.”
This year, “Star Wars” Weekends will take Disney World Guests out of this world on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, between June 1 and 24. And, as he has been almost every year since the event began, actor Warwick Davis will be on hand to sign autographs, ride in the Legends of the Force Celebrity Motorcade, and meet the fans who make these weekends so special. Warwick found his acting career launched when he played Wicket the Ewok in “Return of the Jedi,” and he still has a special place in his heart for the “Star Wars” films and the fans who love them.
“People do get dressed up. It’s the hot Florida sunshine, so it does not lend itself to becoming a Jedi in a hooded robe, but nonetheless … Read the full story here.

May 6, 2007 | 5:03 PM EST | Jayson

The Toyguide updates today with the addition of the second in the series of six Order 66 Exclusive Two Packs from Target: Mace Windu & Galactic Marine. The Order 66 packs are essentially “off screen” pairings of Jedi or Sith with a corresponding unique deco clone. This set includes the now inferior and often released sculpt of Mace Windu from the ROTS line with an added bonus of a new soft goods robe. The Galactic Marine on the other hand is a repaint of theGalactic Marine from Wave 1 of basic figures in the TAC line. These sets are warming an endcap at a Target near you for $9.99, hopefully they’ll be hitting the clearance aisle soon.
Obviously, not all the clones pictured above are included, but to be honest it looks better. ; P Check out all the images after the jump.
