Episode 282: How Do You Talk About A Lollipop Without Sounding Dirty?

It’s one week before Valentine’s Day and time is running out to buy the Valentine’s Day cards, flowers, candies, and gifts needed to woo your beloved! And if you are still in grade school, or shopping or a grade school child, of course the mass market licensed Valentines are how to say “Be Mine” best. Which will grab the attention of the classmates most? Iron Man Valentines? Twilight? Of course the answer is Star Wars! But with four different types of Star Wars Valentine’s Day Cards available this year, some with magnets, some with pencils, some lenticular, the choice of a Valentine is harder than ever, but on this week’s Star Wars Action News hosts Marjorie and Arnie review each of the Valentine’s Day packages and determine whic is sure to win the heart of that special someone.

Also on this week’s podcast, the Entertainment Earth exclusive comic packs are reviewed, we play your voicemails, and discuss the political implications of the recent Star Wars Volkswagen ad! All this and more on the newest episode of Star Wars Action News!

And join us next week as we come to you from New York’s Toy Fair International bringing you all the news and reviews of the Star Wars product coming throughout 2011!

VC31 Obi-Wan Kenobi

The Yakface Toyguide updates resume today with the addition of Obi-Wan Kenobi from the Vintage Collection’s Attack of the Clones wave.

PROS: Hasbro took the awesome 2009/2010 Legacy Collection sculpt and improved the deco, gave him a Jedi robe and corrected the paint deco to the lightsaber hilt.

CONS: Still, no extra lightsaber hilt to attach to his belt.

Head to the toyguide for the full image gallery and to judge for yourself whether this figure is worth adding to your collection.

The Clone Wars Returns Tonight with “Altar of Mortis”

The Clone Wars returns tonight with an all-new episode titled “Altar of Mortis”:

Before the Jedi can leave Mortis, the Son takes Ahsoka captive in an attempt to entice Anakin into joining him to use their combined strength to overpower his Father and Sister. Meanwhile, the Father attempts to stave off a disastrous showdown between his children and maintain the Force’s increasingly precarious balance on the planet.

This is an episode you aren’t going to want to miss!

VC30 Zam Wesell

The Yakface Toyguide updates resume today with the addition of Zam Wesell from the Vintage Collection’s Attack of the Clones wave.

PROS: An excellent revision to the previous figure sculpts. Loaded with articulation and ornate details in the costume, Interchangeable head is a nice touch.

CONS: The Clawdite head sculpt doesn’t look much like the on-screen version – the 2002 figure seemed to capture the likeness better. Haircolor is wrong for the human head- not a deal breaker though as we don’t see her without her helmet in the film. Not having a detachable arm is a step backwards.

Head to the toyguide for the full image gallery and to judge for yourself whether this figure is worth adding to your collection.
