Toy-People.com has posted some great new images of Hot Toys 1:6 Scale Darth Vader and Obi-Wan Kenobi figures on display at Toy Soul 2014. It’s safe to say these look to be the best offerings yet from Hot Toys. Click on through for the images.
I happened to notice this variation today whilst roaming the aisles at Target. The Exclusive Hero Series Heroes and Villains 6 pack of figures now features a sticker on the front indicating the source material for the three non-Star Wars Rebels figures. Click the image above for a closer look – if you care about such triviality.
The Yakface Toyguide updates resume with a quick tour of the new 1:6 Scale Geonosis Battle Droid Commander from Sideshow Collectibles.
PROS: A spot-on representation of the Battle Droid Commander from Attack of the Clones. Paint and sculpt are impeccable (as usual) as are the articulation and accessories. This release shines in the fact that it includes a very cool light-up communications console that features switch out “caps” for varied display options. The Holographic Count Dooku is surprisingly large – nearly 3-3/4″ scale – and looks fantastic when illuminated. Finally, this figure looks great when commanding his other Geonosian Infantry Droids released earlier this year.
CONS: Be careful in the handing of the droid right from the packaging as the elbow joints for most battle droids I have encountered have been frozen (i.e. stuck) and the arms can easily break if the joints are forced. There is only one more “movie” battle droid that needs to be released – the blue “pilot” version – after that, I hope Sideshow offers a Super Battle Droid or Droideka as the standard battle droid sculpt is starting to feel a little played out.

Sideshow Collectibles is now taking preorders for the Hot Toys Shadow Trooper Sixth Scale Figure.
Looks like Hot Toys isn’t resting one bit with their newly acquired sixth scale license as blurry images of a new Boba Fett (Return of the Jedi) figure has hit over at the SideshowCollectors forums. This figure looks to have a ton of accessories and display options including a cool severed blaster rifle and skiff base. Click the image above for a closer look and keep your sights locked on as we wait for official confirmation.
UPDATE: Based on the blurry, circular logo and the bottom left of the image, this looks to be a 1/4 scale figure
As stealthy as the announcement itself, Hot Toys has announced their exclusive 1:6 Scale Movie Masterpiece Shadow Trooper (Commander?) figure. Watch for a Sideshow announcement soon regarding preorder info.
