A reddit user DarthCaloNord found that there is an unannounced exclusive Sphero R2-Q5 coming soon to Apple stores while scrubbing through the Sphero Droids app code. The product itself seems to be confirmed via this hidden page on Sphero’s website.
Thanks to Prensa Imperial for the heads up.
UPDATE: The page on Sphero’s website has been removed.
Facebook user Peter B. has shared that Disney Springs at Walt Disney World now has the new halloween-themed Droid Factory Astromech, R3-BOO17, in stock.
Yakface Reader Eddie J. directs our attention to a very interesting image that has surfaced on Facebook. It depicts an (TRU?) exclusive 6″ Black Series Astromech 3 pk. which includes droids R2-A3, R5-K6 and R2-F2. No additional details are yet available for this set but look more info soon.
About a month ago, an unnamed mystery build-a-droid astromech surfaced online. Various theories exist as to the potential release of this figure, but with the recent ramp up of the Star Wars Day/May Fourth promotions, I theorize that this will be a Disneyland Park Commemorative Figure. A recent blog post states that special “commemorative merchandise” will be available that day, and based on the black/yellow/white colors of the logo, the corresponding colors of the droid and the precedent for Disney releasing Limited Edition astromechs, this seems to fit that theory quite well.
Disney Parks are now offering a new Droid Factory Astromech figure for the holidays: R2-H15.
All different types of Astromech droid populate the Star Wars galaxy. Each droid is different and has their own unique personality and colors. This loyal Astromech is optimized to function and serve in remote, sub-zero environments. Join R2-H15 on his adventure throughout the galaxy.
