Yakface reader “J A” writes in with his latest acquisition:
My Disney Store Fett arrived today. It’s as good as I was hoping. Still, it’s a little strange to hear Jango’s voice come out of it…
Nice score “J A”!
DisneyStore.com now has available for sale the Talking Boba Fett figure available for purchase. Featuring a fully articulated body, lights and sound effects*, this collectible is sure to be a Fett fan favorite.
*Interestingly, some of the blaster and rocket sound effects are from Jango Fett.
DisneyStore.com has updated this week with several new arrivals to their Star Wars section. Items include clothing, toys, plush and more. Also, with each purchase get a FREE set of Star Wars Episode V trading cards.
The Yakface Toyguide updates resume today with our next entry in the series of Disney Store exclusives: the Limited Edition Darth Vader Figurine.
PROS: The overall sculpt and size is good, making it manageable for most display applications. The deco has a nice mix of glossy and matte finishes (with a few paint application issues) to give depth and realism to the dynamic pose. The statue has some heft to it so it doesn’t in any way feel cheap or plasticy. Imperial cog base gives it nice presentation while making it very stable for displaying. No assembly required.
CONS: A bit pricey for the size and its limited edition (500 piece) production run is driving up the secondary price on eBay with listings ranging from $200-$1000.

You saw our initial report for the Disney/Star Wars Event last April regarding the upcoming Boba Fett in the Disney Store Exclusive Talking figure line. Today, the Star Wars Blog updates with an article by Steve Sansweet about the event and within the images, you can see a sneak peek at a painted version of Boba Fett. (Look closely for painted versions of the die cast vehicles as well.) Look for him later this year alongside Chewbacca at your local Disney Store and DisneyStore.com
As we reported back in early May, DisneyStore.com placed their Limited Edition Darth Vader Figurine up for pre-order and it has subsequently sold out. This item was limited to just 350 pieces in the US with an additional 150 available in the UK.
The Yakface Toyguide updates resume today with our next entry for the Disney Store exclusive large scale talking figures. We continue with the fun, but flawed Luke Skywalker.
PROS: The overall sculpt is great with a passable resemblance to a youthful Mark Hamill. The flight suit has a nice dirty wash that adds a bit of depth to the outfit. Features 22 high-quality sound effects that are pulled right from A New Hope’s climactic assault on the Death Star. Surprisingly, Disney did their homework and gave him the proper pistol when they could have easily went with the design used for Han. Includes a removable helmet that fits snuggly, though maybe a tad oversized.
CONS: Luke with no lightsaber? Blasphemy I say, but I suppose it is technically accurate since he didn’t wield it while wearing his X-wing flight gear, but why include the blaster since he didn’t use that particular model either? The hair looks too dark for my liking — coupled with the glossy plastic makes it look as if he is sporting a chocolate hair helmet.

The Yakface Toyguide updates resume today with our next entry for the Disney Store exclusive large scale talking figures. We continue with the fun, but flawed Han Solo.
PROS: The overall sculpt is great with a decent resemblance to a youthful Harrison Ford and captures the iconic look of his smuggler outfit. Articulation is similar to the stormtrooper with 13 POA, but Han has upgraded ball-jointed hips for a far better range of poses. Features 19 high-quality sound effects that are pulled right from A New Hope and are very clear, very loud. SFX activation buttons are well hidden and don’t distract from the overall design of the figure. Battery access is hidden behind his removable vest which also help hide the screw holes in his back.
CONS: Where the glossiness of the plastic benefitted the stormtrooper, it really detracts from Han, giving him a sweaty, oily look that honestly cheapens the look of the whole piece. I’d rate this as my least favorite of the four talking figures.
