More KB Toy Stores Closing

It appears that KB Toys will be closing even more stores down in the very near future, around 200 stores to be exact. This may make it very difficult for those looking to pick up the exclusive 12″ VOTC Chewbacca from a physical store. Hopefully Chewie will be available online for everyone to order.

I just wanted to pass on that I found all 3 of the Star Wars Commemorative Trilogy DVD Collection Action Figure Sets (the ones that came out in conjunction with the release of the Trilogy DVD last month) marked down from $9.96 to $5.50 at a Wal-mart Supercenter in Summereville, SC yesterday. So, keep your eyes open for your local Wal-marts to start marking these down soon.

First on the Rabe/Dorme Question, the listing of Dorme on the back of some cards was in error which has been corrected (have fun variation hunters). The TRU exclusive is currently listed as shipping in 24 hours over at Amazon.com. This ship is a great deal at $29.99 and including the Gold Leader action figure. I saw one of these recently at my local TRU and it is one really nice ship. I personally like the fact that the engines are complete in the box so it makes a much nicer display piece than the old Target Y-Wing which you had to remove from the box in order to display it complete.

In the interview, Tartakovsky speaks about his Emmy wins for Clone Wars and Samurai Jack, as well as the next season of eagerly awaited Clone Wars episodes, in which he gives away no spoilers. Also briefly discussed is Tartakovsky’s role in the upcoming live-action and CG full-length film of the beloved Japanese anime Astroboy.

Bounty Hunting Today: Don Post Yoda Latex Mask

Hmmm…seek Yoda do you? Halloween costume you say? Take you to him I will!

As you can see I am quite a fan of the little green Jedi Master myself and it is more than fitting to feature a vintage Don Post Latex mask for the upcoming festivities on Halloween. The mask itself was released in 1980, after Yoda’s popular debut in the best Episode in the Trilogy, The Empire Strikes Back. The mask is made of flexible latex and captures Yoda’s likeness very well, with bright eyes, and even the white hair and of course long ears. Although wearing the mask today may not be what you have in mind, it looks great on display with other Yoda or Jedi Master collectibles.

Thanks to everyone for their reports in finding the new Slave I at Target stores across the USA. Special thanks to YakReader John who sent in the above pic and this report:

“I just purchased a OTC Slave 1 at the Target store in Jackson Michigan. There were none on the shelves and I took a photo of the overstock before calling an employee to bring some down. They are priced at $29.99.”

I saw the same thing at my local Target, with toys overstocked everywhere already for the Christmas Holiday Shopping Season. There are definetly enough of these to go around, so if you would like one get to a local Target for a toy run!

Anyway, they had 6 or 7 cases on the pallet, all with 84715A00K on them. “SW BASIC FIGURES ASST W9A R1 (2004)” I wasn’t sure if I knew what wave it was but I asked an associate if I could open one since their was room on the shelf to stock some figures. With much delight, it was the wave I was looking for! (I was looking for wave 11). Inside it contained
(3) Han Solo [AT-ST] (OTC #35), (3) General Madine (OTC #36),
(3) Lando Calrissian [General] (OTC #37), and (3) Princess Leia [Bespin] (OTC #18).

I am picky on paint jobs, and I have to say having 3 of each to choose, none of them were painted very well (Mostly the eyes or the hairlines). I went ahead and bought 1 of each – I figured I could always go back later since they have so many cases of each!

Sorry for the long story, just excited. Also, got my Emperor Palpatine Hologram in the mail the other day…
