There has been a lot of commentary out there about the helmet size of the new Captain Rex (#09) figure from The Black Series being too small. There is a very easy “fix” that most people can do if you have some older Clone Wars Rex figures laying about. Click on through for a quick fix on bringing that shrunken head version back to the front lines of your collection.
The fix is pretty straight forward and requires no cutting, painting or altering existing parts of figures so they can be returned to “original” condition with minimal effort.
FIGURES/PARTS/SUPPLIES NEEDED:
Clone Wars Captain Rex (CW13) – helmet only
The Black Series Captain Rex (#09)
Hot Glue gun
DIRECTIONS:
Step 1: Remove the helmet from TBS Rex and set it aside.
Step 2: Remove the helmet from CW13 Rex and place a tiny bit of hot glue inside – use only enough glue to fill the helmet cavity about 1/4 full
Step 3: Place the helmet with glue on top of the neck post of the TBS #09 Captain Rex – rotating it slightly to spread the glue around the neck post.
Step 4: Let the glue harden for 5-10 min.
This custom is suitable for displaying in multiple poses but not for “aggressive” play as the head is only held on by the added friction from the hot glue.
