If you have yet to get dive into Beeline Creative’s array of Star Wars Geeki Tikis ceramic mugs and drinkware, click on through for my impression of a few pieces from this extensive line.
Launching in 2016, Beeline Creative’s first products to market were the Geeki Tikis line of ceramic mugs combining the long-standing Star Wars franchise with the tiki genre. That new concept has now grown into an expansive line of over 250 pop culture licenses from movies, tv, sports, comics and more. Each mug is food/drink safe, dishwasher safe (top shelf) and microwave safe.
The packaging for these review samples, while simplistic, is unique to each product and features artwork specific to each character mug. The back of the packaging feature cross-sell images of other mugs in the line that coincide with each release, spanning the Star Wars saga. And due to the open box design, you can see and feel the relief of each mug for a tactile experience.
The sculpts for each mug are done in the tiki aesthetic, conveying a wood-carved appearance with high relief areas where appropriate and a glossy finish. The colors used for the glaze on the outside of each ceramic mug are character specific with complementary or contrasting colors to accentuate the details of the carvings. For certain characters like Vader or Luke, a contrasting color is used inside the mug that corresponds to their lightsaber colors which adds to their uniqueness.
As far as using these as intended, I found that drinking from these was without issue. The rim of each mug is rounded over and smooth where it feels comfortable when put to the mouth and each of the mugs fit comfortably in the hand.
If you’re not the type to use these as drinkware, these would be great as simple decoration in a living room, in the bathroom as a toothbrush holder, in the office as a pencil/pen holder, in the studio as a paintbrush, pencil or marker holder or anywhere you like to let your Geeki Tikis fandom fly! (Not to mention perfect for gifts, too.)
If any of these or other Geeki Tikis products are of interest to you or someone you know, a wide variety are available now at our sponsor Entertainment Earth or where other pop culture merchandise is sold with retail prices starting around $23.
A special “mahalo” to Entertainment Earth for providing these review samples.
