Here we are just a week before Christmas, and Walmart and Target stores are stocked to the gills with TVC that launched 9 months ago. And Walmart continues to get even more of the initial wave in.
How many figures did Hasbro produce from this wave anyway? How can 2019 be a successful TVC year when they shoot themselves in the foot right out of the gate with mostly repacks? Why aren’t there barely any sales or pricing rollbacks on these at retail? Share your thoughts here or in our forums.
GameStop is running a BOGO 50% off sale on all action figures through Christmas. If you’re out and about it might be worth your while to stop by your local store(s).
Full divisions of Snowtroopers are marching in for the ridiculously low price of $3.99 at Ross. If you’re looking to army build General Leia Organa, she’s even cheaper at $2.99.
Personal Note: In general, is supply of 6″ figures exceeding demand? With 5 Below stores drowning in figures for $5.00 each, very little retail distribution of a ton of figures from The Last Jedi, deep discounts on this line’s vehicles and deluxe type figures, are we seeing some warning signs with Hasbro’s “bread and butter” line?
If you missed out on the 1/12 Spacewalls starter set for 6″ figures now is your chance to snatch up a new set from GTP Toys. The upgraded set offers new left and right side details, 5 unique wall designs, a new clipping system and the same high quality plastics to give you versatility, variety and authenticity. New stock will be in December 13th, but until then they are taking backorders on their site.
GTP Toys is also holding a GIVEAWAY. To enter, just make a purchase on gtptoys.com by December 12th! One winner will receive a set of rubber floor accessories prototypes. This includes: (1) red barrel (1) blue cargo bin and (2) ammo crates.
If you have a Gordmans store in your area, the Rogue One AT-ACT has been marked down to $49.99. So if you’ve held off on getting this, or looking for a fun Christmas present at a good price, you may want to pick this up if you are able to.
Personal Note: If Hasbro had not over-engineered this thing with the app, walking feature, Nerf, etc… and had instead made it more on par with THIS, it would have performed much better for retailers. What say you?
Yak’s Top Ten is back for another round, taking us to what may be the most controversial film in Star Wars history (please keep comments to wish lists though rather than opinions on the film itself).
What figures do you want to see made in The Vintage Collection from The Last Jedi? Post your TVC wishlist HERE.
You can also do the same thing for the 6″ scale line in The Black Series. Post your 6″ TBS wishlist right HERE.
Note: Wishlists may also be posted in the comments section of this article. You may post both a TVC and TBS list, but please do not post your wish lists in this comments section AND in the forums. And please indicate if you’re referring to TVC or TBS with each list.
