J.J. Abrams himself has stated via Entertainment Weekly regarding The Force Awakens presence at D23:
“It is true, we are showing no footage, behind the scenes or otherwise,” director J.J. Abrams tells EW. “In the fall, there’ll be a trailer.”
For people hoping to see official Episode VII merchandise shown at D23, I wouldn’t hold my breath for that. It’s all coming after Sept. 4.

A new cut of the second teaser trailer from The Force Awakens has been released via Star Wars Korea’s YouTube Channel. There is nothing really new in it other that an alternative, reverse angle view of the First Order parade grounds.

Each film comes with beautiful new character packaging that include Darth Maul for The Phantom Menace, Yoda for Attack of the Clones, General Grievous for Revenge of the Sith, Darth Vader for A New Hope, an Imperial stormtrooper for The Empire Strikes Back, and Emperor Palpatine for Return of the Jedi. Star Wars: The Complete Saga will also be released in newly-repackaged artwork on October 13. Head to StarWars.com for the full details.

This week, Flyguy and I discuss some of the images, product lists and unwitting retail employees leaking out info ahead of September’s big reveal. Speaking of big, Hot Toys revealed the ultimate 1:6 item – the Millennium Falcon display recently in Hong Kong. It not only went viral in the collecting community, but caught worldwide attention on media outlets as well. Is something like this actually viable in today’s market? We wrap things up with a bit of comic news as well as our weekly breakdown of new purchases and acquisitions and more on Episode #70 of The Realm Recap!

We’re sure you’ve seen or at least heard of the recent controversy surrounding some racy images published by GQ Magazine involving a couple Star Wars characters. We won’t be publishing the images or the links here due to the varied ages of our readership, but Lucasfilm has issued the following statement.
It’s not surprising that GQ would want to capitalize on the cultural cachet of Star Wars, but Lucasfilm and Disney did not authorize, participate in or condone the inappropriate use of our characters in this manner.
Did you miss the SDCC panel for The Force Awakens? Admittedly it kills me to have missed it but Disney/Lucasfilm did fans a solid and posted the behind the scene video for all to loop.
