Hasbro Pulse Con gave collectors the first look at the carded Black Series figures commemmorating the 40th Anniversary of Return of the Jedi. Wave 1 consists of 4 repacks (Endor Han, Endor Leia, Skiff Guard Lando, and Biker Scout) and a new Wicket. All 5 are available for preorder now at Hasbro Pulse and through our sponsors/affiliates:
Images have now surfaced of the upcoming convention exclusive Black Series ROTJ 40th Anniversary Admiral Ackbar figure – complete with Kenner-insired deco and baton. Look for details on availability outside of the MCM London Comic Con (October 28-November 1) soon.
Doing some additional investigating regarding the Deluxe Black Series figures for the 40th Anniversary for Return of the Jedi, I not only came across the price of $33.99 each (regular ROTJ40 figures are $24.99) but I believe, based on the store code, found a third deluxe item. No word what character it may be yet, but there is a pretty short list of who it may be if it’s a repack. A third deluxe may also indicate a third wave as well.
Here is a first look from an anonymous source at the upcoming Black Series Boba Fett from the 40th Anniversary assortment for Return of the Jedi. I’d imagine the price will be more than some of the others in the line due to the inclusion of all the accessories from the deluxe release (or maybe Hasbro will surprise us).
Update: based on its SKU, it should be an exclusive of some sort, most likely fan channel
Update 2: Card back added showing the wave including the new Wicket. (sorry I don’t have a better quality image)
Following up on another report, it appears that the “Convention Exclusive 5” listing that surfaced yesterday corresponds to a possible carded Black Series 40th Anniversary Admiral Ackbar from Return of the Jedi for Hasbro Pulse Con. No official detail yet, but hopefully we’ll all hear something soon.
Hasbro’s SDCC panel dropped a few Pipeline Reveals for the Black Series including 12 figures for the 40th Anniversary Collection as well and other mainline & deluxe figures.
Listings for the first wave of 40th Anniversary Black Series figures for Return of the Jedi are starting to show up in Target and Walmart systems. No character names yet.
