TVC Code Names: Now There are Two of Them (and that’s bad)

For some time, we’ve been providing code names via our Master List for upcoming product for the Black Series and Vintage Collection products. Recently we’ve noticed that some figures have started to double up on the code names in order to further mask their identities from prying eyes until they are officially announced. TBS has been doing it and now it appears matters are worse and TVC is employing the tactic as well. Read on for my theory that may impact the number of figures coming for TVC in the near future.

The double code-names practice has happened most recently with the Black Series Comic figures. All four of those figures were determined to be identified as follows:

Darth Maul “Lilac” / “Basketball”
Jaxxon “Lily”/ “Football”
Carnor Jax “Lotus” / “Soccer”
Luke Skywalker “Lavender” / “Baseball”

If I’m reading the documentation correctly, I believe I have determined that the Vintage Collection is starting this as well. Shipping info for the new Walmart Exclusive figures; Paploo and Endor Leia now have two code names (flower / shape) associated with their individual Hasbro SKU number and break down as follows:

Paploo “Daffodil” / “Oval”
Princess Leia (Endor) “Dahlia” / “Octagon”
AT-ST Driver “TBD” / “Circle”

If this theory hold true, the codes we have for “Triangle”, “Square” and “Rectangle” pair up in some way with the codes we have for “Magnolia”, “Mayflower” and “Magnolia” – continuing the flower / shape pairing.

Long story short, if true, this means there are fewer TVC figures coming than we thought. Unexpected this is. And unfortunate.
