ToysRUs this week is offering once again their $4.99 action figure sale. All Star Wars (and Spider-Man) figures are 50% off until March 30th. TRU seems to be the only outlet with a decently consistent stock of TVC, Clone Wars and Movie Heroes so head out today to see what is available. The promotion is valid online as well but the selection is limited.
The Yakface Toyguide updates resume today with the addition of the Republic Commando Boss (CW11) Variant.
PROS: Hasbro looks to have tweaked the paint ops for this figure, specifically the zip-line backpack to incorporate some of the orange accents from the armor, making for a more visually interesting piece overall. The oranges seem to match perfectly between the figure and the pack so no one item stands apart from the other.
CONS: Not currently available in the US.
Head to the toyguide for the full image gallery and to judge for yourself whether this figure is worth tracking down for your collection.
You can also weigh in with your impressions on the figures we add to our toyguide on facebook and in our forums.
Collectors of the Mythos line, specifically the Ben Kenobi: Desert Nomad, take note. There has been a production change with this piece and it is NO LONGER including his signature lightsaber hilt that is attached to his belt as shown in Sideshow’s solicitation imagery. This has been confirmed via a discussion with SSC’s Customer Service Dept.
Also, there appears to be a discrepancy in the edition size as the base (currently) lists a 1200 production run while Sideshow’s site still lists it as 2000. No word if the edition size was revised down or if this is a production error on the base itself.
If you’re looking for some cute Easter basket stuffers, Target stores are starting to receive new shipments of Jedi Force figures. Click on the image above for a closer look.
Sideshow Collectibles has posted via Twitter/Facebook/Instagram a curious image that is simply captioned as:
“Who (or what) do these packs belong to? #StarWars #Hoth #EmpireStrikesBack”.
By the looks of it, we can expect a Tauntaun (of some scale) in the not-too-distant future and with that can a Hoth Luke or Han be far behind?
If you have a Kmart in your area, keep in mind that all clearance toys are an additional 50% off and this deal goes on until March 30.
Many stores have multiple areas where they pile up their clearance toys, which means if you dig a bit you might be able to score some great finds at drastically reduced prices, like forum member darthapathy did with the AT-ST crew members for just $5.50.
Lynx Collection only has a few of their new Limited Edition SW:TESB “Hoth” Posters left available through their Etsy store. Head on over and check it out!

The stores are full of the same ol’, same ol’, not because there are no new Star Wars action figures but because the stores are so full of 2012 figures that Hasbro is only shipping the new 2013 figures to other countries. If you want the 2013 Yoda carded Clone Wars and Movie Heroes figures American Star Wars collectors need to buy from Canada or Germany at considerable expense in shipping and surcharges. Is it worth it? Marjorie and Arnie have the final wave of Clone Wars figures in hand from a Canadian seller, and review each figure on this week’s Star Wars Action News! Listen to find out if these repacks, repaints, and retools are worth your bounty.
And speaking of bounty, on this week’s podcast is one bad bounty hunter — Bossk! Sideshow’s 12-inch Bossk figure is in stock and shipping now, and Star Wars Action News reviews the exclusive version on this week’s show. With interchangeable hands, feet, and head (with the exclusive version) listen to hear the hosts’ thoughts on this latest sixth-scale figure!
With a vintage filled report from the Toy Man Toy Show in St. Louis, a way to get an exclusive T-Shirt design this weekend at Wizard World St. Louis, and more, it’s all in this week’s Star Wars Action News podcast!
