Hasbro will be hosting the Galactic Swap Meet at the Hasbro booth at Celebration V! Bring your surplus Build-a-Droid parts and trade with us, and other fans, as our booth becomes the hub for some serious droid-part-swapping!
We will have a limited supply of complete parts available for 14 of the buildable droids from the Legacy/Droid Factory basic figure line (see attached poster for exact droids we will have). Just bring your extra Legacy/Droid Factory parts and trade them 1-for-1 for parts you need to complete your unfinished droids.
Even if you don’t see the droids for which you need parts on the list, bring what you have anyway….there’s always a chance that another fan will have what you need.
To ensure that as many people as possible can complete their droids, we ask that only 2 Droid pieces be exchanged per person per day.
It looks like Hasbro heard our cries about the initial mold chosen for the Obi-Wan Kenobi in the Saga Legends line. As you may have seen, the first shipments of this figure included a repack of the mold first used in 2003 Saga line as the Outlander Nightclub version. New cases shipping now look to have switched this figure out for the more respectable 2008 TAC mold. No word yet if a similar upgrade to the Jango Fett is in the works.
Daniel Logan’s (aka Boba Fett in AOTC and The Clone Wars) Twitter posting further confirms the upcoming Slave I that Hasbro conveniently omitted from SDCC after it was revealed/spoiled onSandtroopers.com. Hasbro sent Daniel a swag package full of Boba Fett themed merchandise. Click the photo above to check it out!
The official site has updated tonight with the announcement of a new set of Bounty Hunter Cube Dudes that will be exclusive to Celebration V. This set follows the recent SDCC exclusive Clone Wars set including Yoda, Obi-Wan, R2, C-3PO and Captain Rex and the Toy Story Buzz Lightyear from Toy Fair 2010. Head to StarWars.com for the full article.
Your mileage may vary, but at least one St. Louis area Target (Kirkwood) has fully stocked the new figures as of today… Vintage, Clone Wars, Legends, Battle Packs, Mid-Size Vehicles, and even AT-ATs.
It might be worth your while to see if your local Target has done the same – good luck Yakkers!
Facebook follower Fernando posted on our wall today that the exclusive Jabba’s Throne w/Oola has crept out onto Walmart shelves in Southern California. Thanks for the report Fernando!
Having been ahead of the street date for weeks now, TRU continues to be the place to shop for new Star Wars figures as now the second wave of deluxe figures has been sighted! Head on over to the forums for a closer look.
Forum member TCW_Collector93 shares the first image we’ve seen of some great looking upcoming Clone Wars figures Mandalorian Warrior (CW29), R4-P17 (CW30), Shaak Ti (CW31), Boba Fett (CW32) and Embo (CW33).
Here is an interesting story from frequent e-mailer EvilAnimation:
I decided to go Target at lunch and I found the entire wave of new Star Wars including vehicles and Clone Wars, and I noticed a lady that had a Hasbro name tag looking and scanning the figures. So I kinda hung around deciding if I need a couple of doubles like the AT-AT commander and cloud car pilot. I overhear her on her phone calling someone and then she gives the zip code of the store and store number and starts talking about a fine of $200 saying this stuff should not be out tell August 3rd. She then says that the manager is not there but she has already informed the supervisor and they are aware.
She also said that the new Transformers were out so they could be dinged on that as well. So I quickly grabed the figures I wanted and head to the front because I could hear talking about having someone from electronic come over and pull these off the shelf.
I think that $200 fine is per offending item and not a one time fee so if true, stores are looking at some serious infractions for setting the new goods early.
