Yakface Reader Steven writes in with a follow-up to our previous report on the possibility of a limit of 2 per customer on the Hoth Box Sets:
Hey, I’m a Target employee and thought I’d give you the 411 on exclusives here at the store in TN I work at. The 2 per customer rule is kind of a generic rule for all extremely collectible toys, and to be quite honest, unless it was like the Zu Zu Pets were last Christmas, 99.9% of the cashiers really don’t care. As long as you don’t come through with ten of the same thing, you should be cool. Anyway, I’ve been reading for a long time, and it’s always good to see new info on the site!
While shopping at Target today, I received a coupon with my receipt for $5.00 off any $30.00 Hasbro Star Wars purchase. This wasn’t the result of buying some Star Wars items, it printed up even though I didn’t buy anything toy related at all. With all the new exclusives hitting Target, savings like this will definitely come in handy. So keep an eye on those Target receipts!
Yakreader Chad writes in today letting collectors know that the “Only at Target” exclusive stickers are easily removable from the Vintage Snowspeeder and Imperial TIE Fighter boxes giving collectors the option to display without them.
Today marks the release of J.W. Rinzler’s follow-up to The Making of Star Wars, The Making of Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back explores what went into creating the sequel to one of the greatest films of all time. It is available in stores wherever fine books are sold as well as online.
Today I was able to score the new Hoth Box Sets at Target, and was told by a manager that there was a limit of two per customer. If anyone else has experienced this or can back this up, please share your thoughts in the forums.
Yakface reader “Shabby Blue” writes in with a very interesting find regarding a new variant surrounding the Vintage Collection Sandtrooper.
There appears to be a running change for the photo on the vintage Sandtrooper card. The original photo was more blurry with its colors faded, but the new version is sharper with deeper colors. It’s most noticable with the deeper blue sky and the sharper whiter looking sandtrooper in the photo. This new “blue sky” version has a newer date stamp on the back of the card, confirming that its the 2nd version with the faded card being the original. It’s also not a one-time factory error because I just saw a 2nd one at Walmart yesterday after finding the first at TRU earlier in the week. I’ve attached a few hi-res photos showing the difference. The new “blue sky” version is on the left and the old faded version is on the right.
As a follow up to Jedi Temple Archives report earlier this week, Yakface reader Mike writes in with word that he found the updated Saga Legends Jango Fett at his local Target in Las Vegas so it looks like it has now officially it the US.
Yakface forum member “leebo” has posted some great loose images of the Target exclusive Defense of Hoth and Attack on Hoth Battle Packs in our forums. Head on in to see what is new and different in the two sets.
