New Astromech “Chopper” Revealed for Rebels
Movie Pilot has posted an exclusive introduction (via video) of a new astromech debuting in the Star Wars Rebels series. Pulling from the original R2-D2 concept art by Ralph McQuarrie, the utilitarian “Chopper” is described as being cantankerous, yet loyal and often completing his mission objectives on his own terms.
UPDATE: New Inquisitor Lightsaber Image in EW
Today’s issue of Entertainment Weekly has listed Star Wars Rebels as part of their 2014 Preview feature and the accompanying photo shows a new image of The Inquisitor with a couple stormtroopers. Interestingly, it reveals that his unique lightsaber staff appears to have a couple modes where it can be used as more of a sword with the full [rotating] ring folding in half to serve as a traditional hand guard.

Darth Maul Clone Wars Storyline to Conclude in Comic Form
Newsarama has posted an exclusive report that the story arc involving Darth Maul in The Clone Wars series will be concluded via a four-part limited edition comic book series titled: Darth Maul: Son of Dathomir this May.
It is a huge disappointment that these episodes won’t be completed in their intended animated form, but at least the story will finally get some closure.
New Rebels “Ghost” Concept Art
The StarWars Tumblr page has posted a great concept illustration by Kilian Plunkett for The Ghost from the Star Wars Rebels series. I’m loving this ship more and more every time I see it. Holiday Special Screening in Minneapolis Tonight
Tonight, I will officially (and willingly) for the first time subject myself to a 35th Anniversary viewing of the infamous Star Wars Holiday Special. It is being presented at the Bryant Lake Bowl/Theatre here in downtown Minneapolis at 7pm and at 10pm (I’ll be at the 10pm showing). Admission to the event is an unwrapped toy donation to Toys for Tots.

Rumor: AOTC and ROTS 3D Still Coming?
Throw this in the rumor pile for now, but DeathStar.nl has posted an interesting tidbit about the possibility of 3D versions of Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith heading to theaters (at least in the Netherlands) in December of 2014.
