VC16 Obi-Wan Kenobi
The Yakface Toyguide updates resume today with addition of Obi-Wan Kenobi from the Vintage Collection.
PROS: Although we’ve been inundated with this figure sculpt for 5 years, it is still a solid mold without being overtly outdated. Nice likeness and well accessorized.
CONS: A better figure is available in the 2010 Saga Legends line for $1 cheaper. The knee joints suffer from “ostrich syndrome” and the ankles are distracting with the contrasting joint inserts.
Head to the toyguide for the full image gallery and to judge for yourself whether this figure is worth adding to your collection.
New Target DPCIs
Our friends at JediDefender have posted a new list of Target DPCIs slated for feature on a Star Wars endcap in the next week or so. Head on over for the complete breakdown.
New Hoth Battle Packs Found
News is coming in that collectors have already begun to find the new Target Exclusive Battle Packs, retailing at $39.99. Be on the lookout if you’re wanting to add the Rebel or Imperial set to your collection – and it never hurts to try the DPCI trick, which is 087-06-2249 as both sets share the same number.

Jango Fett Saga Legends Variant Confirmed
Our friends at Jedi Temple Archives have received photographic evidence that Jango Fett has been upgraded to the “as advertised” TAC #57 sculpt. Prior versions utilized the 2002 Saga #13 Jango sculpt. Head on over to JTA for a closer look.
Update: It looks like this piece wasn’t found in the US (yet) but in Australia. Hopefully we’ll see it here soon.
NEW Star Wars Specials at TRU This Week
Toys”R”Us updates their sales this week with a nice discount on the NEW Rise of Boba Fett Ultimate Battle Pack and it is now $89.99! (A $10 to $20 savings depending on your store’s pricing) Also this week, the Radio Controlled Hailfire Droid is marked down to $49.99 (from $59.99). And as we reported earlier this week, the Exclusive Nikto Guard is now free with a Star Wars purchase over $30.00.
Clone Wars Nikto Guard (TRU Exclusive)
The Yakface Toyguide updates resume today with the addition of the Toys”R”Us exclusive Nikto Guard from the Clone Wars Collection.
PROS: Finally, we’ve received the figure that was originally intended to be included with the Clone Wars Jabba’a Palace Battle Pack from 2008. A great looking figure all around and well accessorized.
CONS: Lack of articulation in the legs limits poses available and the pre-posed leg positioning tends to make this figure unstable. A rather generic figure for an exclusive and the $10+ pricepoint might hamper this figure’s sell-through at retail.
Head to the toyguide for the full image gallery and to judge for yourself whether this figure is worth adding to your collection.

Two of the more impressive Clone Wars Battle Packs this year are starting to show up at both Wal-Mart and Toys”R”Us stores. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled if you’re looking for either the Clone Wars ARC Troopers Battle Pack or the Mandalorian Troopers Battle Pack!
