With collector frustration with Hasbro quite possibly at an all-time high, timing for the company making 3.75″ figures for the highly anticipated The Hobbit films could not be much better.
These new figures by The Bridge Direct are starting to pop up at retail (Toys”R”us for now), and I for one find it very refreshing to find new figures in this scale, apparently aimed at adult collectors, and with a lineup of figures that isn’t flooded with repacks.
Take a look at a few of the figures from this line, and share your thoughts after the jump!
Reports are starting to trickle in from around the country that Toys”R”us stores are putting out their latest cool exclusive out! Forum member Aaylasecurasman scored them today in Arizona, and I was lucky too and found them in St. Louis tonight… and with today’s one day coupon for Buy 1 Get 1 75% off any Hasbro Star Wars item there, the second one was only $5.50!
Hopefully things at retail this Fall will be better than the first 8 months of the year…?
UPDATE – Loose pics have now been added, including a size comparison to the old speederbike mold.
Toys”R”us is running a Labor Day sale that is good through Monday – all Hasbro Star Wars items are Buy 1, Get 1 50% off. Might be a good time to try and score those exclusive Ewok and Yavin sets! Good luck!
Star Wars fans will be looking at a busy fall in 2013 with both AOTC and ROTS receiving the 3D treatment, as both films will released in theaters again, this time just a few weeks apart! Attack of the Clones will be released on September 20th, 2013, and Revenge of the Sith on October 11th, 2013.
For all the fans of Hasbro’s toy line, could squeezing these two films so close together spell disaster? Share your thoughts on how this could impact the hobby after the jump!
Most of us haven’t been able to score the latest exclusive figures yet from Toys”R”us, but forum members Scarrviper and darth_sidious have, and they’ve snapped some great pics for your viewing pleasure. Check them out by clicking here!
With all the frustration collectors have had to endure this year, one thing that seemed to really have people excited was the upcoming K-Mart exclusive AT-ST. Well, that might have just gone out the window.
The good news is, this has now been found at retail… but the bad news is, it appears that loose collectors are going to be upset when they open the box – click on the image above for the scoop on the inconsistent paint job that Hasbro gave this thing, and thanks to forum member Jedighost009 for the pics.
Hasbro’s latest behemoth vehicle is in stock and shipping at Hasbrotoyshop.com, and with news starting to circulate that this vehicle isn’t showing up in Target’s new reset, supporters of this new toy may want to consider making an online purchase.
Note – this qualifies for free shipping right now. Thanks to forum member AaylaSecurasMan for the heads up!
It’s no secret that collectors have been extremely frustrated by Hasbro’s case assortments, carry forwards and figure selections for a while, but now it appears that Wal-Mart might sick of it too.
Head on over to JediTempleArchives.com for some interesting information they’ve come across regarding the Movie Heroes line, and share your thoughts in their discussion or here in our forums.
Although these likely won’t be put out on the pegs for a few more weeks, Target stores are receiving shipments of the next wave of Vintage 3-pks. You can try your local store by asking customer service if they can help you out. For more details, click on the image above, and as always, good luck!
For the second week in a row, a TRU in my area has stocked two cases of new figures – still not nearly enough to go around, but a positive sign hopefully.
The new Death Squad Commander is a fantastic figure for sure, but I missed out on Darth Malgus, and decided to pass on the other new figures from the wave. There will be another time, but for now I was just happy to get these great figures from Wave 3.
