Update: TVC Jabba the Hutt with 8D8 Revealed

Hasbro has revealed and new Vintage Collection Jabba the Hutt set exclusively coming to Hasbro Pulse. This set features Jabba in is gluttonous glory with dais and accessories — plus includes 8D8 and Salacious Crumb! Priced at $89.99, preorders open tomorrow at 10am ET at Hasbro Pulse. Update: Hasbro’s latest video also confirms that 8D8 and Salacious Crumb will both be individually carded with the latter being on a mini card reminiscent of its original release in the 2011 SDCC exclusive Revenge of the Jedi Death Star II set.

Hasbro Selfie Series Gets A Price Hike Even Before Launch

Gizmodo has posted a new article today detail Friday’s launch of Hasbro’s new Selfie Series of customized 6″ figures. The main takeaway from the article is that despite being initially promoted with a $60 MSRP per figure, the price has jumped significantly (33%) to $80, pushing many curious collectors from “maybe” into the “definitely not” category. No explanation has been given as to the increase but maybe that willl be covered at this weekend’s Hasbro Pulse Con.

3.75″ Black Series Diecast Figures Revealed

Gizmodo has posted the first look at the rumored 3.75″ Black Series die cast figures from the 40th Anniversary Collection. The line launches soon with 5 characters from A New Hope that includes Darth Vader, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia and Han Solo. Each $15 figure includes an interlocking display base and backdrops featuring a film setting and character portrait. Click the image above for a closer look.

Control Sphero BB-8 Via New Wearable Tech

Gizmodo has posted an article regarding the development of a new wearable piece of tech from Sphero to control their popular BB-8. The wrist-worn device uses simple hand gestures to control the rolling droid rather than relying on an app on a smartphone. It will be available later this year as standalone purchase or bundled with BB-8. Also stated in their article is Sphero’s plan to release a weathered/battle-damaged version of the droid as well.
