While still “no longer available”, Walmart has updated the listing for the Vintage Collection Stormtrooper (Mimban) figure to include a carded shot but also, comically, still shows the crochet thread as the primary image.
Walmart’s exclusive TVC Mimban Stormtrooper is finally seeing some distribution thanks to them being in stock online, though at a pretty high markup.
Personal Note: Mine arrived today, and damn what a fine figure it is! Hopefully Hasbro and Disney are taking notes that great army builders like this should be packed heavily in basic assortments as opposed to being an exclusive. And just imagine how much better the TVC retail landscape would look if Wave One of TVC had two of these packed into each case instead of repacks of Rey and Jyn?
I went by my local Five Below yesterday to see how many TBS figures were left after Christmas… and it was a lot. After being down to just stacks of Jyn, Cassian, and Krennic, they had restocked the pegs yet again to the max with more figures.
Any guesses as to what other 6″ waves they might be getting in after the Baze / Chirrut wave? Or will it be isolated to just this one wave getting dumped there? Share your thoughts after the jump!
Target stores are putting Force Link items on clearance now that the Christmas rush is over. Chances are these will be marked down lower in the coming weeks.
Personal Note: My local store only had the single figures marked on clearance, and the 2-pks with “The Last Jedi” label marked down. The “Solo” 2-pks were still scanning at full price. I didn’t bother to scan anything else.
Walmart has started to receive wave 1 of the new Star Wars: Resistance figures from Hasbro. The case includes 2 of each figure (Kaz, Torra Doza, Commander Pyre, Major Vonreg, Synara San, and First Order Stormtrooper). Brandon W. on Facebook reports them being found in Kentucky.
Rey (Island Journey). Mimban Stormtrooper. Elite Corps Clone Trooper. Three TVC figures we all thought we’d have by now (although Rey is enroute to collectors as we speak) but now it sounds like the next wave of Vintage figures will be following that trend of delayed gratification and will be available in March 2019. Preorders should still open next month… hopefully.
As 2018 draws to a close, I continue to research and scour the interwebs for clues of upcoming product from Hasbro for the new year. Our unpublished 2019 list is growing rapidly and recently I came across a new listing for a potential exclusive for April’s Star Wars Celebration Chicago.
