VC23 Luke Variation #327

Joining the never-ending crop of variants from the Vintage Collection (half of them seem to spawn from this Luke figure alone), Jedi Temple Archives is reporting that Hasbro has finally corrected the missing “chrome” gradient in the name pill for the Luke Skywalker (Endor Capture) first present on the “Jedi Knight Outfit” cardback from wave 3. Head on over for a detailed look.

Toyguide Update: VC53 Bom Vimdin

The Yakface Toyguide updates resume today with the addition of the Bom Vimdin (Cantina Patron) from the 2011 Vintage Collection’s (Wave 7).

PROS: Hasbro has added an all-new, never-before-released, goon to patronize our cantina dioramas and toy shelves. His outfit is loaded with details giving a very life-like quality, especially the spiky vest/torso and the gloved hands. He is well accessorized too with working holster and thigh strap (the RFT is very jealous) and side arm, and one of the coolest rifles ever done.

CONS: Absolutely nothing, other than the potential for him being tough to find.

Toyguide Update: VC55 Logray

The Yakface Toyguide updates resume today with the addition of the Logray (Ewok Medicine Man) from the 2011 Vintage Collection’s (Wave 7).

PROS: Hasbro knocks another Ewok sculpt revision out of the park with this new take on Logray. The accessories are great in terms of sculpt and deco. Also, designers went that extra mile and incorporated ball-joint elbow – a first for an Ewok – making this the most highly articulated Ewok yet.

CONS: Fur seems a tad dark when compared to movie still or other reference images, but hardly a reason the pass on this figure, if and when you can find it.

“Yak”Facebook Preview: VC55 Logray

Thanks to one of my local MN collector pals, I was able to secure a few of the latest Vintage Collection figures from Wave 7. In today’s “Yak”Facebook Preview, we take a look at Logray (Ewok Medicine Man). This all new version features the most articulation yet for an Ewok, sporting not only ball-jointed hips and ankles, but elbows as well! Let’s hope this trend continues with future furball releases. For more images, head to our facebook page and be sure to keep an eye out for more Wave 7 editions over the next few days as well as complete Toyguide Updates for each figure.

Toyguide Update: VC26 Rebel Commando

The Yakface Toyguide updates resume today with the addition of the Rebel Commando from the 2011 Vintage Collection’s Return of the Jedi wave (Wave 3).

PROS: This latest attempt at an Endor Rebel Solider (aka Rebel Commando) shines above all others. Well accessorized and articulated making it another “must-have” figure from the Vintage line. Easily removable accessories make customizing and variant creation possible with minimal effort – you’ll want/need more than one of these guys for your Endor Strike Team.

CONS: Odd forward-tilting angle of the neck post sculpt force the figure to look in a downward direction.
