In case you haven’t been lucky enough to already find Solo merchandise leaking out early in stores and online, your wait just got a little bit shorter. You’ve probably seen images of product cases marked with “STOP! Do not put on shelf before: April 13th, 2018” which seemed to conflict with prior reports of April 20 as the official start of “Wookiee Weekend”. I’ve been told by two sources at two different major retailers, that April 13 is now the launch date so you can shift your previously scheduled time off requests a week ahead.
Here is a nice look at the upcoming Hero Series Imperial Patrol Trooper from Solo: A Star Wars Story. This is the trooper we see in the teaser that crashes his speeder on Corellia in pursuit of Han and Qi’ra.
Apparently Toys”R”Us is going out with a bang as more “Solo” merchandise has started hitting shelves, this time in the form of 6″ Black Series wave 16. This video shot by Roger A. on Instagram shows several pegs worth of the new Han Solo and Lando Calrissian at a store in El Paso, Texas.
Here they come… the flood of leaked merchadise for Solo: A Star Wars Story is starting to hit eBay. Check out Cloud-Rider Gang leader, Enfys Nest’s* Swoop Bike, and Han Solo’s Landspeeder.
Even Disney Parks has gotten in on the breaking the street date game as shown in a recent comment here. The above 6″ figures from Wave 16 were found at the Star Wars Galactic Outpost in Disney World.
A couple new NERF Glowstrike blasters from Solo: A Star Wars Story have started to hit retail – at Toys R Us of all places. The Chewbacca blaster and Qi’ra blasters were found in California. Click on through for larger images.
Based on several posts via Facebook, Instagram and eBay, it appears that our intel was correct in that collectors can expect to be able to acquire both waves 16 and 17 of the 6″ Black Series assortment for the Solo: A Star Wars Story launch in April. Reports also confirm the case breakdown that we reported as well.
Like previous merchandise launches (The Force Awakens, Rogue One, The Last Jedi), multiple waves of 6″ Black Series may make it into the hands of collectors via retail (brick and mortar and online) for the launch of Solo: A Star Wars Story products in April. Wave 16 has already started showing up in advance of the street date and Wave 17 may be hot on its heels.
After doing some research in preparation for the release of our checklist for the Solo: A Star Wars Story merchandise launch next month. I’ve been able to find a bit more info for figures coming beyond wave 1 which we teased back in February.
