Target Partners withthe U.S. Fund for UNICEF to Empower Kids to Get Active and Save Lives
It’s no secret that kids across the U.S. have major superhero potential. And soon, they’ll have the power to save lives and help provide therapeutic food packets to kids around the world, just by getting active. Target is teaming up with the U.S. Fund for UNICEF to help bring UNICEF Kid Power to households and students across the country. To kick-off the partnership, Target will be the exclusive retailer of the Kid Power Band—the world’s first “wearable-for-good ™.”*
Our very own Justin (Chewie) reports finding the newest wave of 3.75″ Build-A-Weapon figures (General Hux, “Peezy”, Goss Toowers, Guavian Enforcer) at Target last night. Check them out in our forums.
Some Target store are apparently limiting the purchases of all Star Wars product to one DPCI per customer according to store signage. Meaning that if you find two 6″ Black Series figures you want, you must choose as stock is so limited in most locations.
Scott from Tulsa sends a tweet this morning revealing another exclusive heading to Target. A multi-vehicle “Hero & Villain Starship” set that includes two golden diecast versions of the Millennium Falcon and Slave I.
Twitter follower @StudShooter managed to find a shelf full of Funko’s POP! figures for The Force Awakens which revealed Target will be having an exclusive Kylo Ren figure. A few quick images of the exclusive were taken to also reveal that Target’s version (#77) is a hood down variant while the standard release (#60) is a hood up version. Both should be available at Target on Force Friday.
No Bothans died to bring you this information, only an unsuspecting Target “red shirt”.
Trent B. writes in with a report finding the LEGO Kylo Ren’s Command Shuttle at Target in Nashville, TN. Click on through for images of the front and box of the box.
Target has updated their website with new information announcing Share the Force Saturday on September 5th. Check out their Star Wars Shop, plus photo ops, a giveaway for kids and demos of new Star Wars toys.
Also, be sure to check out which stores near you are participating in the midnight launch on Force Friday.
As you are likely aware, Target stores are marking down basically everything in their older Star Wars inventory prior to the Force Friday launch September 4.
Some stuff is down 50% now, including the 6″ scale deluxes at some stores for just $12.48 per forum member TVC15’s report (recall Target lowered the everyday price on these a while back once it became apparent that there wasn’t enough demand to move them at full retail of $39.99).
Personal Note: If you’ve been holding out on these, the 6″ deluxes are pretty good, so passing on this price could lead to regret down the road...
A report from Infinity Inquirer has posted that each of the four Star Wars Rebels characters (Kanan, Ezra, Sabine and Zeb) revealed recently will initially be exclusive to 4 separate retailers as part of a timed release.
Over the weekend, forum member Jodo ran into something very few people have seen at a Target store in a long, long time… several new Black Series figures. Not full cases, of course, since Target seems to reject the notion of giving their customers a full selection of Star Wars figures these days, but it still seems like a positive sign (I ran into some stores that also stocked last week, though it was as usual, just 2-3 figures at a time).
Keep those store reports coming in, and hopefully the last handful of figures from the final waves of pre-Episode 7 Black Series actually make it to the pegs in decent supply before the onslaught of product in September…
