We posted a lengthy rant last month expressing our recent frustration with Hasbro, and it seems like the folks at Target may feel the same way given their latest round of Hasbro markdowns.
It isn’t just Star Wars product either… it’s GI JOE and Transformers product too… and the trend here is that all the items are ones aimed at kids, and really aren’t of high quality… they are often gimmicks or Hasbro scaling back on quality. So what does that mean with the upcoming Movie Heroes line? Will they pegwarm like these have been doing since the moment they were first stocked?
Hopefully Hasbro has a much better plan in store for next year… share your thoughts here or in our forums.
A new packaged image has surfaced of the 2013 Rise of Darth Vader multi-pack courtesy of VolkerC at StarWars-figuren.com. Head on over to take a look at what we can expect to see on Target shelves later this year.
Target has the Class II Vehicles on sale through May 18 for $14.99 (these are the controversial “mid size” vehicles consisting of the Slave I, Kenobi Starfigher and Republic Tank). So if you’ve been considering these as a purchase, this is a pretty good price on these… and I for one actually think the tank is kind of cool even at a reduced scale (yes, I know I’m in the minority).
Last year’s third wave of TVC is continuing to show up in greater numbers now (about a year late!), which is good in a sense, but also one has to wonder if things would be better if this wave just showed up at discounters instead; considering this wave (like Wave 2) is smothered in seven more TPM carry forwards.
On any note, Toys”R”us seems to be the best place to have a chance at scoring newer figures lately, but reports are also coming in that Wal-Mart and Target are finally receiving more TVC shipments as well. Good luck, and as always, your experience will vary.
If you’re looking for some cute Easter basket stuffers, Target stores are starting to receive new shipments of Jedi Force figures. Click on the image above for a closer look.
We’ve all been frustrated with the Star Wars retail situation over the past 12+ months – and Target has been one of the worst culprits places of all. What used to be a haven for new figures has become the land of the pegwarmers due to the tidal wave of Episode One product that Hasbro pushed last year.
Recently, Target clearanced out their TVC figures… but then today while on a toy run, I came across an interesting find at my local Target… for more details, click here.
Target stores are receiving the latest Figher Pod sets consisting of Jango Fett’s Slave One and a Geonosian Fighter – each set comes with eight mini figures. The sets are priced at $14.99. This one’s for the kids – and is a pretty cool item for an Easter present for the little ones.
It appears that most Target stores are slashing their clearance prices down to 70% 0ff – which means if you can score any 2012 TVC figures at this price, you’ll be paying about three bucks a figure. So now is the time if you want to try and grab some cheap custom fodder, army builders, etc.
Target has started placing new Series 4 Fighter Pods products this week and in addition to the single packs, 7 packs and the Exclusive Tin, they have also placed the 2 new “Rampage” Battle Game packs. The Hailfire Droid Pack includes a Droideka*, Super Battle Droid*, Captain Typho and Galactic Marine and the Republic Gunship Pack includes Mace Windu*, Kit Fisto*, Han Solo (Hoth Gear) and a Royal Guard (Crimson Empire). Each set retails for $19.99.
