REBELS Customizing Challenge Roundup

rebelschallenge00

We recently jointed forces with our good friends at www.imperialshipyards.net through a joint customizing event to create some “REBELS” themed custom figures.  The event has now concluded, and we have a lot of great figures to show in the Roundup Report – and even a Random Prize Winner to announce too – so kick back and check it all out after the jump!

Customizer Mega Spotlight

If you’re active in the Yakface customizing forums, you have more than likely been keeping up on the great work of our forum members – but if not, this post is for you, because it means you’re missing out on some great eye candy!

So without further delay, customizer darthcrassus has been very active with new  updates lately, including a fantastic take on Jariah Syn, which you can take a closer look at here.

Next, wraith_nineyak continues to expand his Clone Wars line of clone troopers… if you’re a fan of the animated styling, you will certainly want to check out his latest updates!

We are also treated to a great Clone Wars take on Chancellor Palpatine, courtesy of Elias – which is even more impressive considering he is only 10 years old (great sign of things to come for many years!).

Finally, we also show a great take on a non-Star Wars custom… it’s a Lord of the Rings Ringwraith in the 3.75″ scale from Evilivo!

Rebels Customs Event Winding Down

rebels2

The fan community was recently exposed to Hasbro’s upcoming Rebels line, which has been met with mixed results as so many of us prefer good articulation and more detailed sculpts with the Star Wars lines rather than what Hasbro revealed.

Soon after, we teamed up with Imperialshipyards.net to host a customizing event where fans can make their own Rebels themed customs and have a chance to win some cool prizes.  While the number of entries has been somewhat modest thus far, the quality has been fantastic.

To check out the latest entries,  click here – and remember, entries will be accepted until the end of April.

Kmart Sale Through 4/19

scanningcrew_screwup

If you have a Kmart in your area, you may want to head there quick to see if they have any Scanning Crew sets yet – as stores have dropped the price down to $10 per set through 4/19!  Be aware though that it’s unconfirmed if this is a national sale or not.

Of note, their clearance toys are an additional 50% off through 4/19 – there are some great buys to be had, mostly non-Star Wars items; but the 31″ Vader is currently marked down for a very low price too.

$5.00 GI JOE Figures at Five Below

joes

Off topic a bit here, but if you have a Five Below store in your area, you may want to swing by and see if they are stocking GI JOE figures – the ones in my area just started putting GI JOE Retaliation figures out this week, for the awesome price of $5.00 each.

A lot of the later figures from the “movie line” are really great figures, but sadly were not distributed well (a trend we see with Hasbro these days).

Rebels Customizing Challenge Continues

update

Last month, we launched a joint Star Wars: Rebels customizing event with our friends at Imperialshipyards – and so far, we’ve had several great submissions, which you can check out here.

But the clock is ticking, as entries will only be accepted through the end of April!  So if you’re interested in taking part in this customizing challenge, head on over to the forums for all the details.

Yakfinities #52 – Jabba’s Entourage

yak52

A new Customizing Challenge is upon us, and we’re back to more Original Trilogy goodness with this one – Jabba’s Entourage!  Of course though, as with all Yakfinities, customizers can branch out and create fan fiction characters, and certainly the prequels and Clone Wars characters that are part of Jabba’s gang are fair game too.

Whether you are a crafty veteran customizer or have never even attempted to make a custom figure, we welcome you to join in Yakfinities #52 – Jabba’s Entourage and show off what you’ve got!  As always, we’ll have some random prize winners selected after this wraps up at the end of June.
