Vintage TPM and Movie Heroes Hit Retail
Reports are flying about that the TPM wave of Vintage Collection figures have hit retail at Target in the US. They have been found in Utah, Arizona and California. South of the border in Mexico, the first wave of Movie Heroes sporting the new Darth Maul packaging design have hit retail as well. Seems like Christmas has come a little early for some folks.
Episode 324: 2011 Year In Review Part 1
This year’s biggest Hasbro Star Wars items may be the ones you DON’T own… Wedge Antilles from The Vintage Collection, the San Diego Comic Con Death Star figure set, the Toys R Us and Wal Mart exclusive mini-rig vehicles. But while item scarcity was a big topic for Star Wars collectors in 2011, there were also some great waves of figures, from The Vintage Collection fan’s choice Bastilla Shan to the Wave 3 Gamorrean Guard to R2 with the serving tray, and in the Clone Wars line Bariss Offee, Seripas, and not one but two Savage Oppress figures!
On the latest Star Wars Action News podcast, Arnie and Marjorie are joined by Steve, Jerry, Jay, and Berent as they look back at 2011 for Hasbro Star Wars collectors for this first in the multi-episode 2011 Year in Review series.

Toyguide Update: Sideshow 12″ Sandtrooper Desert Sands Detachment
The Yakface Toyguide updates resume today with the addition of the 1:6 Scale Sandtrooper – Desert Sands Detachment from Sideshow Collectibles.
PROS: Sideshow releases what may be my favorite item thus far in their “Militaries” line. Accuracy and attention to detail in this piece are equal to none. The improved deco and weathering adds to the authenticity and realism. The included accessories and weaponry make nearly infinite configurations for display. Works well with the Hasbro produced Dewback from 2000.
CONS: Price maybe prohibitive for some collectors. Once you have one, you’ll want the previous sandtrooper releases if you don’t already have them in your collection.
Head to the toyguide for the full image gallery and to judge for yourself whether this figure is worth adding to your collection.
You can also weigh in with your impressions on the figures we add to our toyguide on facebook and in our forums.
