For the past several weeks, Walmart.com has had some amazing rollback prices on a number of Star Wars figures. If you’ve been considering stocking up on army builders or customizing parts, you might want to take advantage of these deals before they are gone – (the Sandtrooper, for example, has now sold out).
While many Walmart stores started receiving aisle displays of fresh product prior to Christmas, there are still some stores just now starting to put these displays out. Be on the lookout in your area.
Personal Note: I don’t understand why Hasbro doesn’t utilize these displays to fill them up with brand new figures from the 3.75″ line; instead it feels like they are dooming the retailer as it’s more Finn, Rose, Hux and Poe that are destined to warm the pegs and prevent new waves from showing up. That upcoming Wampa would also be a much more welcome site than more Rathtars.
In what should not be a surprise to many, Walmart stores are starting to clearance the Forces of Destiny line as part of their “post-Christmas” clearance binge. Check your local store if you were looking to acquire these.
Personal Note: I thought this line was doomed as soon as it was announced. And I rarely see anyone pay attention to them in the stores (I do casually observe other customers). This felt like a “forced niche” item that Disney pushed, and I would feel this line has fallen short of retailer expectations to this point. For those that do like it, or have children that enjoy these, I hope the line continues for years to come. But I personally can’t see it having legs for an extended time; unless it’s marketed better and perhaps the product moved to the store section the audience these are targeted at frequent most.
