Toyguide Update: CW60 Kit Fisto

The Yakface Toyguide updates resume today with the addition of Kit Fisto in Cold Weather Gear (CW60) from The Clone Wars Collection.

PROS: Hasbro delivers yet another all-new Kit Fisto for the Clone Wars line. The sculpt overall is fantastic with a lot of detail worked into the leg wraps and head. The additional removable accessories are a nice surprise considering this is supposedly a “kid-focused” line. Fits into the most recent Jedi Starfighter cockpit (sold separately).

CONS: Because of the design of the head, the neck joint has a very limited (to the point of non-existent) range of motion. Small accessories, especially the goggles, all but guarantee being lost within the first few hours of play so having them sculpted to the figure might have worked better in the long term.

The Clone Wars Returns This Week with “Prisoners”

The Clone Wars continues tonight with “Prisoners“, picking up where last week’s season premiere left off and concluding this three-part story arc.

The Republic and Gungan forces have been captured by Riff Tamson and his Karkarodon enforcers. Now, it is up to Ahsoka and the young Prince Lee-Char to unite the fractured people of Mon Cala and drive out the Separatist invaders.

Head to StarWars.com for a preview and be sure not to miss this week’s exciting conclusion!

Toyguide Update: CW57 Special Ops Clone Trooper

The Yakface Toyguide updates resume today with the addition of the Special Ops Clone Trooper (CW57) from The Clone Wars Collection.

PROS: A decent figure for the most part, nothing earth-shattering in terms of innovation but he’s well articulated and accessorized.

CONS: The color of the plastic used for this figure doesn’t match the Toys”R”Us exclusive Special Operations Clone Trooper (aka Commander Blackout) when in all actuality, it probably should.

Toyguide Update: CW62 Captain Rex

The Yakface Toyguide updates resume today with the addition of Captain Rex (CW62) from The Clone Wars Collection.

PROS: Captain Rex gets an update with this release with a new sculpt featuring soft goods kama, ball-jointed hips and a BMF rocket pack with posable cannons. What’s cool about that is it can be ditched all together and replaced with a more “series accurate” jetpack that pops out of the back of the larger one. Now that’s forward thinking Hasbro! He’s also accessorized with 3 blaster pistols and the standard fare removable helmet.

CONS: Rex does loose some articulation in the ankles and now has swivel wrists instead of ball jointed ones. There is also paint apps missing from the rangefinder that has been present on all previous Rex figures wearing this particular armor design.
