As Professor Farnsworth would say, Good news everyone! Our friends at JediDefender have posted news that the Prototype Boba Fett Mailaway figure has started to ship out again to those who had their order(s) delayed so check those mailboxes.
Last week, requestors for the Mailaway Prototype Boba Fett received notifications that due to the overwhelming popularity of this promotion an additional batch run of figures have to be produced in order to fulfill orders. Those that received this notification can expect to receive their figure(s) at the end of July.
Thanks to Yakface Reader Frank L. for the info and image.
The deadline line for the sending off for the Vintage Collection Mailaway Prototype Boba Fett (VC61) is here. Forms and UPCs must be sent off today to insure your order(s) getting filled for this unique piece. Be sure to check out our toyguide entry to check out what you might be missing for your collections!
PROS: This never-before-offered figure looks striking both on and off the card. Nice paint apps where applicable and uses a great sculpt as a base. Shipping now and in a reinforced shipping mailer.
CONS: Being a kitbashed figure, it’s not entirely accurate in terms of accuracy to the test costume, namely the inclusion of the holster. Another Boba Fett mailaway? Hopefully Hasbro ventures out to other Star Wars characters for the next one. This figure is part of the sequential number system usually reserved for figures available at retail.
Head to the toyguide for the full image gallery and to judge for yourself whether this figure is worth adding to your collection.

Hasbro has made available the Redemption Form for the exclusive Prototype Armor Boba Fett (VC61) online!. Any 5 Star Wars action figure collection UPCs will qualify for this offer. Head to Hasbro.com for the complete details and let’s hope the figures show up on doorsteps in better condition than the previous Mailaway Fett did.
Collect and save the UPC codes of any 5 figures from these Star Wars action figure collections: Vintage (97568 Asst.), Saga Legends (21115 Asst.) or The Clone Wars (94736 Asst.)
So to further clarify, the valid UPCs are from the current Vintage, Saga Legends and Clone Wars collections shipping to stores.
No word yet if orders will be honored for those that already sent in their forms with now non-qualifying UPC.
Our friends at Sandtroopers.com has posted a first look at carded and loose shots for the upcomimg Mailaway Prototype Boba Fett! Looks like Hasbro got the beach towel graphic worked in but missed the grappling rocket for the jetpack. Oh well. Blast on over for a closer look!
Today (March 31st) is the deadline to have your redemption forms postmarked for the Mailaway Sergeant Bric and Battle Mat for the Clone Wars line. If you still need a form, you can download one from Hasbro’s website here.
Reports are coming in that collectors are receiving the vintage rocket firing Boba Fett… however so far it looks like most people are receiving these in very poor condition. Head on over to the forums to share your thoughts.
Update: Yakreader Jeff wrote in to say he contacted Hasbro Consumer Affairs Division (1-800-327-8264) regarding his damaged Fett. They offered to send him a replacement and a return label for his damaged one. Might be worth a call if you are in the same situation.
