Toyguide Update: CW64 R7-D4

The Yakface Toyguide updates resume today with the addition of R7-D4 (CW64) from The Clone Wars Collection.

PROS: This all-new astromech incorporates the successful Build-A-Droid concept from the 2008-2010 Legacy Collection for added playability. Great sculpt and deco and the blue “inards” under the dome is a nice touch. Compatible with the most recent Plo Koon’s Jedi Starfighter.

CONS: Since this design utilizes a new removable dome, the pop-up periscope feature from prior astromechs has been omitted.

Toyguide Update: CW65 Jar Jar Binks

The Yakface Toyguide updates resume today with the addition of Jar Jar Binks (CW65) from The Clone Wars Collection.

PROS: For those that missed him before, it’s a great opportunity for another shot at the accident-prone Gungan. Great detailing in terms of deco and the likeness is spot on to the character’s 3D model. Nicely articulated. It’s virtually an exact repaint (save for a little difference on the head) so folks can pass on it unless you really need the Galactic Battle game card.

CONS: Paint job is a little sloppy on the eyes which gives him a cross-eyed look on my sample.

Toyguide Update: Republic AV-7 Mobile Cannon

The Yakface Toyguide updates resume today with the addition of the Republic AV-7 Mobile Cannon from The Clone Wars Collection.

PROS: This all new offering from Hasbro has a lot of play value for being a piece of artillery. It features a surprising amount of articulation in the legs and turret portions.  The gunner platform work well here… on par in terms of expandability of play along this lines of the AT-TE and Turbo Tank’s “extra features”. Trust me, you’ll want more than one.

CONS: You’ll want more than one.
