The Yakface Toyguide updates resume today with the addition of R7-D4 (CW64) from The Clone Wars Collection.
PROS: This all-new astromech incorporates the successful Build-A-Droid concept from the 2008-2010 Legacy Collection for added playability. Great sculpt and deco and the blue “inards” under the dome is a nice touch. Compatible with the most recent Plo Koon’s Jedi Starfighter.
CONS: Since this design utilizes a new removable dome, the pop-up periscope feature from prior astromechs has been omitted.

PROS: For those that missed him before, it’s a great opportunity for another shot at the accident-prone Gungan. Great detailing in terms of deco and the likeness is spot on to the character’s 3D model. Nicely articulated. It’s virtually an exact repaint (save for a little difference on the head) so folks can pass on it unless you really need the Galactic Battle game card.
CONS: Paint job is a little sloppy on the eyes which gives him a cross-eyed look on my sample.

Upon my travels this morning, I managed to scored some of the figures from the newest Clone Wars wave at Walmart. I missed out on Savage Opress but did pick up Chewbacca, Even Piell, Jar Jar Binks, R7-D4 and the new, and much-improved, Captain Rex.
It seems that the new assortment of Clone Wars figures (Chewbacca, Jet Pack Rex, Even Piell, Savage Opress etc.) is hitting retail across the country. For an advanced look at these new releases, head on over to our friends at Jedi Temple Archives!
The crew over at BanthaSkull.com have posted a new list of Target DPCIs taking us from now through the first part of 2012. Head on over for the breakdown.
UPDATE: I hit up my local Target today to check out the new DPCIs and grab their corresponding prices:
Cartoon Network has announced that Season 4 of The Clone Wars will debut with a one-hour premiere on September 16 at 8pm/7pm CST (the same day as the Complete Saga on Blu-ray). Until then, check out the new extended trailer for Season 4 “Battle Lines” loaded with action, new and returning characters and easter eggs!
PROS: This all new offering from Hasbro has a lot of play value for being a piece of artillery. It features a surprising amount of articulation in the legs and turret portions. The gunner platform work well here… on par in terms of expandability of play along this lines of the AT-TE and Turbo Tank’s “extra features”. Trust me, you’ll want more than one.
CONS: You’ll want more than one.
