ToyMan is back in St. Louis once again this Sunday, September 26! This popular collector show is often patrolled by the 501st Legion and has a great variety of dealers with countless toy lines available.
You never know what you’ll find but there’s always a ton of Star Wars items ranging from vintage to the latest Hasbro releases. So if you’re in the St. Louis area, head to Toymanshow.com for more details.
Yakface Forum Member “darth_sidious” reports that upon opening his newest Clone Wars wave 3 figures, he discovered the return of the $5 Clone Cash coupons valid toward the purchase of a vehicle. As you may recall, Clone Cash was inserted into Clone Wars figures last year when the packaging changed over and I guess it was successful enough to warrant a return.
Gentle Giant’s Newsletter announces Premier Guild Members pre-orders for the Han Solo and Chewbacca Vintage 12″ Kenner figures. They also reveal that Premier Guild Member will also be able to order a small head variant for the Han Solo figure! Click the images above for a closer look.
Yakface Forum Member “Grimace” scored new Clone Wars figures from wave 3 today at his local Toys “R” Us. Wave 3 consists of Ki-Adi Mundi, Flamethrower Clone Trooper and Clone Pilot “Goji”. Nice find!
PROS: A great second attempt from Hasbro in bringing us a correctly scaled and highly articulated droid general. Interchangeable and removable parts are fun. Legs seem to be holding up rather well in the warping department.
CONS: Shoulder plates fall off far too easily – even with the slightest of arm movement.
Head to the toyguide for the full image gallery and to judge for yourself whether this figure is worth adding to your collection.
There have been forgivable instances in the past where Hasbro’s white armored military (clones and stormies) end up yellowing over time.
But over the past year you may have found that more and more figures that are brand new and still hanging on the pegs are suffering from this (look closely next time you are at a store – there is a good chance you’ll notice this on the new Legends Clone Troopers and perhaps even some Clone Wars figures).
Is Hasbro trying to save a buck by using cheaper plastic that turns parts of these figures yellow and sometimes even green right after they are produced?
UPDATE – Our friends at both Banthaskull and Jeditemplearchives have addressed this as well. Hasbro should be fully aware of this problem. Time will tell how they respond.
Sideshow Collectibles has revealed in their newsletter a new 12″ three-figure set consisting of Waxer, Boil and little Numa from the “Innocents of Ryoth” episode from The Clone Wars. Pre-orders start September 23.
Upon visiting my local Toys”R”Us today, I managed to take a peek at the planogram been used to reset the aisle and it indicates that the exclusive Clone Wars Nikto Guard (Puko Naga) is part of this reset and should be hitting stores in the next few days.
Reports are coming in that collectors are receiving the vintage rocket firing Boba Fett… however so far it looks like most people are receiving these in very poor condition. Head on over to the forums to share your thoughts.
Update: Yakreader Jeff wrote in to say he contacted Hasbro Consumer Affairs Division (1-800-327-8264) regarding his damaged Fett. They offered to send him a replacement and a return label for his damaged one. Might be worth a call if you are in the same situation.
