A few weeks back we shared an article from JediDefender about new S.H. Figurarts figures on the way from Tamashii Nations including a Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker. It looks like they will also be offering a very cool Death Star II Throne Room Diorama as well. Click on through for the full screen shot. Thanks to Sith_Fire30 for the intel.
We have pulled down the recent story sent to us by Hole in the Ground Productions per request of the author, Eric Berry. We offer Eric best wishes and luck going forward in his service to collectors.
Eric Berry from Hole in the Ground Productions has released for immediate sale their latest custom for 3-3/4″ figures – the Troop Transport
I didn’t think the vehicle was all that interesting when I first started work on it but I’m now in love with this thing. Lots of options. The rear bench seat is removable so you can place it on either side on the transport or take it out so it can haul standing troops, droids, or other cargo. Paint it grey and it would make a great vehicle for the Empire too.
Movie prop guru and forum member Raylen is back with another new diorama item Star Wars fans have been clamoring for since the mid 1990s… cantina chairs! To find out how you can own your own set, head on over to the forums. Once you have them, all you need to do is crack out the paints and you’re set!
Personal Note: How is it that Hasbro feels it’s good business sense to ignore essential diorama items such as these (and ones that don’t require the expensive assembly process by their labor force)? If it looks cool and is reasonably priced, the market will support it. Simple as that!
Last week we gave a very positive review on the Galactic Merchants modular diorama walls, and those who have received their sets thus far all seem to agree – these things are outstanding!
I would have to agree with how Tamer at Imperialshipyards puts it, “These may be best action figure product I’ve bought all year!”
Looking to add a bit more excitement and realism to your sixth scale figure display? Sideshow now has Hot Toys’ Dynamic Figure Stands available for pre-order that allow you to showcase your collection in jumping, mid-air and flying poses thanks to a flexible pillar.
For those that supported the indiegogo campaign for Galactic Merchants, it appears your investment is about to pay off as the creators have begun shipping their Space Station walls sets! Be on the lookout for email notifications of your order shipping, and until that time, you can check out a full gallery of the sets I received in the mail today.
Personal Note: Without a doubt, these are the highlight of the year for me in collecting. In fact, these might be the best thing I’ve been able to acquire in this hobby for the last several years. With these, we the fans who have supported this hobby for nearly 20 years in the modern era, can finally have adequate displays to show off our figures without having to spend frustrating hours on end making our own sets. It’s just a shame that the company who makes the figures has ignored such a concept for so long. The Galactic Merchants team has done the fan community a great service with these sets and they should be applauded for their efforts.
For those that helped with the Galactic Merchants kickstarter campaign, we think you will find their latest previews most impressive… check them out in the forums and on their Facebook page!
The collecting community is anxious to get their hands on the amazing diorama pieces coming soon from Galactic Merchants! And to help answer some of the many great questions that collectors have, the crew at Imperialshipyards will be hosting a podcast with the lead designer of these great environment sets this Friday at Friday, September 6th at 7 p.m. Eastern Time.
The folks at Galactic Merchants have shared another outstanding update showing further progress on the upcoming display environments they are offering to the fan community. Check out the full image they’ve shared in the forums!
