GTP-TOYS: Space Walls!

dioramawalls

After years on end of Star Wars fans being left out in the cold when it comes to dioramas and playsets, it looks like we may be seeing a 3rd party that could really help fill the void…  GTP-Toys.

Right now they are offering some fantastic walls that are in line with 6″ scale figures, and have 3.75″ ones on the way (which is what I’ve personally REALLY been waiting for).   Demand appears to already be high enough to put the 6″ scale ones (9-pack starter set) on back order.  However, they do have a 2-pack starter set available here.

But just imagine – SOMETHING other than a plain shelf or a cardboard backer for people to display their action figures with!  Each wall panel is separate, which allows you to create or recreate your favorite scenes… something I still can’t believe has been neglected by the official toy brand for over two decades now.

It may seem like there’s fewer items worth buying in the 3.75″ market these days – and if you feel this way, head on over to Holeinthegroundpro.com for a refreshing focus on items in this scale for scene and diorama building (collector language for playsets).

All kinds of fantastic items are available… the prices are fair, the quality is the best I’ve seen, and orders are received in a timely fashion.  For more details, check them out here and share your thoughts in our forums.

“Desert Den” Playsets Arriving

cantinasets

If you pre-ordered a “Desert Den” playset from Twelfth Parsec, start keeping an eye on your email for a shipping notice as these have begun to arrive on the doorsteps of collectors.

Personal Note:  Independent groups who are actually fans themselves are starting to take advantage of Hasbro’s negligence on the playset front, and hopefully we will see bigger and better things like this in the future.

On any note, head to the forums for a closer look.

Custom Troop Transport Now Available

HITG_trooptransport

Eric Berry from Hole in the Ground Productions has released for immediate sale their latest custom for 3-3/4″ figures – the Troop Transport

I didn’t think the vehicle was all that interesting when I first started work on it but I’m now in love with this thing. Lots of options. The rear bench seat is removable so you can place it on either side on the transport or take it out so it can haul standing troops, droids, or other cargo. Paint it grey and it would make a great vehicle for the Empire too.

More Diorama Bits Available!

Movie prop guru and forum member Raylen is back with another new diorama item Star Wars fans have been clamoring for since the mid 1990s… cantina chairs!  To find out how you can own your own set, head on over to the forums.  Once you have them, all you need to do is crack out the paints and you’re set!

Personal Note:  How is it that Hasbro feels it’s good business sense to ignore essential diorama items such as these (and ones that don’t require the expensive assembly process by their labor force)?  If it looks cool and is reasonably priced, the market will support it.  Simple as that!
