Yak Reader John Hurd writes in with some disturbing news regarding pre-orders for the Toys”R”Us exclusive “Battle Over Endor” multi-packs.
All pre-orders from Toys”R”Us will be canceled for the Battle of Endor per Toys”R”Us. I called them and inquired. It wil be put back online when they get them and know how many they will be getting. Supposedly they are getting less than what they were pre-ordered allowed. So everyone will be canceled.
For those that pre-ordered these sets, has this been your experience as well? Let us know in our forums or on facebook.
Yakface Reader Steven writes in with a follow-up to our previous report on the possibility of a limit of 2 per customer on the Hoth Box Sets:
Hey, I’m a Target employee and thought I’d give you the 411 on exclusives here at the store in TN I work at. The 2 per customer rule is kind of a generic rule for all extremely collectible toys, and to be quite honest, unless it was like the Zu Zu Pets were last Christmas, 99.9% of the cashiers really don’t care. As long as you don’t come through with ten of the same thing, you should be cool. Anyway, I’ve been reading for a long time, and it’s always good to see new info on the site!
Yakreader Chad writes in today letting collectors know that the “Only at Target” exclusive stickers are easily removable from the Vintage Snowspeeder and Imperial TIE Fighter boxes giving collectors the option to display without them.
Today I was able to score the new Hoth Box Sets at Target, and was told by a manager that there was a limit of two per customer. If anyone else has experienced this or can back this up, please share your thoughts in the forums.
Yakface forum member “leebo” has posted some great loose images of the Target exclusive Defense of Hoth and Attack on Hoth Battle Packs in our forums. Head on in to see what is new and different in the two sets.
News is coming in that collectors have already begun to find the new Target Exclusive Battle Packs, retailing at $39.99. Be on the lookout if you’re wanting to add the Rebel or Imperial set to your collection – and it never hurts to try the DPCI trick, which is 087-06-2249 as both sets share the same number.
PROS: Finally, we’ve received the figure that was originally intended to be included with the Clone Wars Jabba’a Palace Battle Pack from 2008. A great looking figure all around and well accessorized.
CONS: Lack of articulation in the legs limits poses available and the pre-posed leg positioning tends to make this figure unstable. A rather generic figure for an exclusive and the $10+ pricepoint might hamper this figure’s sell-through at retail.
Head to the toyguide for the full image gallery and to judge for yourself whether this figure is worth adding to your collection.
Yakface reader Darth Stringfield was informed by a Toys”R”us employee yesterday that starting on Sunday, this figure will be free with a $30.00 purchase. If this indeed true, it may be worth a trip to your local store to add this figure to your collection.
Our friends at Jedi Defender have posted some nice front and back carded shots of the upcoming Target Exclusive Senate Commando 2-pack that includes Captain Jayfon and a basic Senate Commando. This set will be shipped alongside a Cad Bane & IG-86 2-pack for around $14 each. Look for these sets in your local Target store in the next few weeks. Head on over to Jedi Defender for a closer look.
