Proto Fett Mailaway Form Clarification

Our friends at JediDefender have scored an advanced look at a couple Episode I figures due in 2012. Head on over for loose shots of Ric Olie and the generic Naboo Pilot. Also, be sure to check out a spy report with detailed info regarding an all-new Jar Jar Binks!
The Yakface Toyguide updates resume today with the addition of the Special Ops Clone Trooper (CW57) from The Clone Wars Collection.
PROS: A decent figure for the most part, nothing earth-shattering in terms of innovation but he’s well articulated and accessorized.
CONS: The color of the plastic used for this figure doesn’t match the Toys”R”Us exclusive Special Operations Clone Trooper (aka Commander Blackout) when in all actuality, it probably should.
Head to the toyguide for the full image gallery and to judge for yourself whether this figure is worth adding to your collection.

After making a revision to the accepted UPC requirements last week, Hasbro is now only accepting the actual packed-in mailaway redemption form for the Mailaway Prototype Fett as evidenced by the nifty new watermark the form now bears on Hasbro.com.

The Yakface Toyguide updates resume today with the addition of Captain Rex (CW62) from The Clone Wars Collection.
PROS: Captain Rex gets an update with this release with a new sculpt featuring soft goods kama, ball-jointed hips and a BMF rocket pack with posable cannons. What’s cool about that is it can be ditched all together and replaced with a more “series accurate” jetpack that pops out of the back of the larger one. Now that’s forward thinking Hasbro! He’s also accessorized with 3 blaster pistols and the standard fare removable helmet.
CONS: Rex does loose some articulation in the ankles and now has swivel wrists instead of ball jointed ones. There is also paint apps missing from the rangefinder that has been present on all previous Rex figures wearing this particular armor design.

In Star Wars Action News‘ QnA session this week with Hasbro, they’ve received word that the Saga Legends line of basic figure will cease in 2011 and be replaced with something new called “Movie Heroes” when the line refreshes in 2012. An interesting development for sure – I’d expect to hear more about this next month at NYCC.
Hasbro has made available the Redemption Form for the exclusive Prototype Armor Boba Fett (VC61) online!. Any 5 Star Wars action figure collection UPCs will qualify for this offer. Head to Hasbro.com for the complete details and let’s hope the figures show up on doorsteps in better condition than the previous Mailaway Fett did.
UPDATE: Hasbro must have realized their mistake regarding the UPCs for the Prototype Fett as the website and form now specify the qualifying asst. accepted.
Collect and save the UPC codes of any 5 figures from these Star Wars action figure collections: Vintage (97568 Asst.), Saga Legends (21115 Asst.) or The Clone Wars (94736 Asst.)
So to further clarify, the valid UPCs are from the current Vintage, Saga Legends and Clone Wars collections shipping to stores.
No word yet if orders will be honored for those that already sent in their forms with now non-qualifying UPC.
