Although today was stated by Target’s corporate site as the release date for the Retro Collection Prototype Darth Vader, most stores have not received any of these figures. Fortunately a check this morning via the Target website at a store in Ocean, NJ yielded 34 of them. Some were set in the Funko section and two pegs worth in the Star Wars section. Sponsor Entertainment Earth will be taking orders at 9am PT for Hasbro’s Retro Collection of figures which includes Darth Vader, Chewbacca, Princess Leia, Han Solo, Stormtrooper, and Luke Skywalker. Our friends at Rebelscum have confirmed with Hasbro that plans to release Darth Revan in TVC for 2019 have been dropped. It’s possible one may be issued in 2020 but nothing definitive was indicated.
Those who missed out on the initial launch of Hasbro’s Retro Collection at Target will get another opportunity starting next week, July 23 at Entertainment Earth.
Yesterday I posted via Facebook that I managed to find shipping manifest info revealing that the Vintage Collection Skiffs and Skiff Guard 3 pk. are enroute to the US from China. Now this morning, we’ve received word that processing notifications have started going out to those that preordered these items and should be expecting shipment in the next 10 days. So keep an eye on your inboxes!
Dan over at StarWarsCollector.com has posted news that the upcoming SDCC Exclusive Retro Prototype Darth Vader is schedule for at July 21 release according to a recent update from Target’s website.
Update: Target has confirmed that they will be releasing this figure in-stores on August 2.
After a huge run up at the end of the campaign, the Vintage Collection Archive book has surpassed $231,000 in backing and is set for production! Backers of this project will not only receive the physical book, but a digital copy as well, plus a several other bonus items due to the unlocking of multiple stretch goals. We’ve almost reached the next stretch goal for our Kickstarter campaign, so we thought we’d give you a glimpse at how we’re turning a photo of a TVC Jabba the Hutt figure into the obverse side of a coin (with a few special modifications). Please note the design is not final.
If we meet the stretch goal before the campaign ends on Sunday, all book backers get a 3-coin set featuring Jabba, Boba Fett’s Slave I, and Jabba’s Sail Barge coins (in addition to all the other unlocked stretch goals). We know this is a stretch goal many of you have been hoping gets unlocked.
We also recognize that our international backers are hit with some stiff shipping charges as a result of postage rates that are out of our control. As a token of our appreciation, all book backers with an international (non-U.S.) shipping address will receive a second coin set with the 3-coins struck in a gold color. While it may not ease the burden on the shipping costs, we hope our international friends find the ultra-limited, gold-colored coins a nice addition to their collection.
